All mountain/powder ski for my dad

My dad is on his way to sixty and is looking to make the upgrade to some rockered wide skis. Hes coming off of old 168? (cant remember the size) apache recons. He skis approximately 5-7 days a year on the east and one to two weeks out west. Weekend warrior type, you know the deal. I'm trying to help him out on picking out equipment and I've been looking at faction 3.0 and 3.zeros. Also looking at the sick day line. Hes a fairly strong skier, but just gets tired out a little easier these days. Hes not dropping cliffs or hitting the park, just ripping groomers, making his way into powder when he can, and hitting the trees as much as his legs can take. Would love some more recommendations!

Blizzard bonifides? Does he prefer a soft or stiffer ski?

Rossi Experience 88 is an awesome all mountain ski. Wide enough to ski in pow, awesome on groomers, and the rocker makes it easy to pivot around in trees.

I got my dad the 84's because they are lighter (pawlonia) and he is mostly skiing groomers, but sounds like your dad would do awesome on the 88's. Or of course you could go for the soul 7. It's the ultimate one ski quiver for old people.

Sorry to not give specifics...I wouldn't recommend you dad a twin tip. Skis aren't designed for what he really needs. Get him a solid directional mid fat all mountain ski that isn't a twin tip.

prophets aren't still around, are they? what did line replace them with? my dad loved his prophets as an all-around ski.

Just bought my dad a pair of K2 Shreditor 112's as an everything ski. He sounds like the type of skier that your dad is, and rides the same skis. I'm hoping that he'll like them

The lineup has evolved in to the Supernatural series. Great ski's, and a great choice.

OP, get your dad a Fischer Motive 95. Fucking trust me on this.

motives are actually amazing but they arent rockered or wide under any circumstances so i dont think thats what hes looking for. also supernaturals are lines stiff option so if hes getting tired, a stiff flat tail wont help at all

my dad is a great skier hes 52 and can ski down anything with ease in any condition and has been skiing for 45 years

i have him on so icelantic nomads and hes never been happier. a softer rockered twinned ski is actually much easier to ski as it feels long but skis with much less effort because of the short contact patch. it skis long when you need it in the powder though. i would actually recommend a softer style rockered twin in the 105-110 range like a Line SFB or Mordecai, ON3P Kartel 106, Icelantic Nomad, Rossignol soul 7, Salomon Rocker 108, K2 shreditor 102, or atomic automatic 109
