well dont waste your money on a new ipod if you want a new one. Get the mp4 player, you can play videos on them and they're cheaper than ipods. They can hold up to 5 gigs and one of my friends got it for only $270.

I just got the H340 too! ITS SO SICK! Much better than the ipod (and yes I have had one of those too). Navigation isnt as good as the click wheel (nothing is) but the added features make it much better than the Ipod. Check it out kids!

ugh, if its the hardrive that died, you can always buy a new harddrive for a few bucks. they are pretty easy to take apart. i replaced my battery a few weeks ago, no problem. and you have to pull the harddrive off the board to get it out. its simple.

My ipod was dying a lot lately. I keep having to hold down select and menu to reset it, then it's okay again. It's weird.

Can't complain though, it was free! :)

Yeah Utahpowderskier, the H340's navigation, and no on the fly playlist creation are the only two things that let it down. There is a group working on a thurd party firmware release for the H100 series, and hopefully they'll modify it for the H300s soon after that - it should add a lot of features and improve things. The LCD remote is going on sale very soon too.
