if most hills are open by christmas it's an average season. I wasn't in ontario last season but I don't think my local hill opened up until late december and then had great conditions until april.

Or just be neutral and go with the weather. No point in stressing about the weather, it accomplishes nothing.

Besides: Growing up in Ontario, I'd say that close to 50% of the time we wouldn't really be skiing till the holidays. (I remember a few boxing day openings even).

I'm super stoked to get on the hills (especially because this year i got new equipment), but the weather does suck. It's really hard to swallow a delay in opening day, especially since our west coast peeps are already skiing, but that doesn't mean we can deduce that the season is gonna be shit :P. If Hidden Valley is opening this weekend, I may just make the drive and ski what miserable terrain that may be open, just to get rid of summer blue balls.

i think it was 2006-7, i remember still doing setups with arena snow at my friends house in january. That through 2009 was all around pretty terrible for skiing in ontario

last year at this time in Ottawa we had 20cm of snow already. This year I can still get around wearing light flannel and not being cold. I'm really hoping it starts snowing soon

December 12 delayed. they ended up opening the last weekend of December. the conditions were shit up to all this snow fall and not it sound like its all wonna melt and we wont be skiing in a couple weeks. im hoping it lasts to easter weekend but this has been a sad year

Are you talking about pakenham? I only went once and they had the shitty park on the quad side. Did they ever really open a full park?

yea they opened the full park and it's good now. They just had a rail jam this weekend
