This last weekend I made the venture out to Sunshine for the day it was awful. By 10am Rocks where everywhere. Everyone we talked to said Lake Louise is even WORSE than sunshine. This isn't true the people saying this all had Sunshine season passes and didn't want to admit to that Lake Louise conditions are better.Bummed out we decided to stay an extra day and go see the conditions at lake Louise. I'am saying as of Right now (December 1st 2015) Make the extra 30 minute drive down to lake Louise the conditions are 150 times better. Trust me, you'll thank me you did.

Fuck Sunshine. The vert is shit unless you're skiing delirium, goats eye or wild west and those area have worse coverage than Louise eagle ridge and peak 90% of the year.
On top of that the park lap is garbage, you spend half the time on boring cruisers before and after the park, the visibility is usually gobshite and if its not it's sure to be icy as fuck.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. I don't think I've ever had a bad time at Sunshine. There is lots of natural stuff to mess around on (which it was I enjoy) and it's rarely busy (no line ups).
Sure there are some rocks sticking out, but it's still early in the season. I'm not a park skier, so I guess Louise probably has that over Sunshine, but for just bombing around, it's a blast.

I like both of them so i gotta disagree with ya on that one. I have skied both of them regularly enough to know that they both have their strengths and weaknesses.
But hey, if you like Louise.. all power to ya.

lake louise fuckin sucks sometimes. you can't deny that louise gets less snow that sunshine due to the elevation, it's a longer drive, lifts are slow as fuck at louise (if you wanna lap the backside of the summit, you have to take the slow ass paradise chair, ski back down to the summit tbar, and then take the slow ass tbar up. Takes like an hour for one lap), i find that louise gets way more icy and less coverage than sunshine, sunshine has easily accessible touring slopes, funner terrain in my opinion (you can hit an abundance of natural features every run whereas at louise you'll maybe get 2-3 a run), more traversing at louise, more variation of terrain at sunshine, less lift lines at sunshine and again, due to the elevation, louise can suck balls in spring cause they get rained on every other day.
However, louise takes the cake on parking, vertical, park (the park at louise is always wicked and kicks sunshine's ass) and general size. But even though they have more vertical, i find that sunshine has more fun features packed into each run, but thats just me.

I preffer louise over sunshine in general because of the wind at ss is awful and will leave rocks exposed all season.
All times are Eastern (-5)
