My oh shit moment happened two years ago, I was cruising the park and jamming to he Wu, but I decided to throw it on shuffle for the last two hours on the mountain. Low and behold some Iron Maiden came on (I get really stoked and hyped when iron maiden is playing). I started mobbing through the park and hitting all the features at high speeds, I came up to the last jump in the jump line right by the chairlift, a solid 40 footer, I was going about double the speed I should have been going. This is the oh shit moment when I realized I was screaming RUN TO THE HILLSSSSSSS at the top of my lungs and I see I was almost at the height of the chairs on the chairlift, completely overshot the jump to flat and bit some tongue off, bloody nose, and couldn't stand up for a couple minutes.

Kids just always remember, never Iron Maiden and Ski

i was hiding a small but fairly high table in the park and i was trying to get past some kids that were snaking so i got some speed to get past them but i had too much speed and when i hit the table i had enough time to say "oh fuck" 5 times. This whole time the kids and their parents were watching me. I also got raped by my binding when i landed.

this happened two days ago to me. I was doing switch lip and I just blanked out going up to the rail and when I went to jump on my tip hit the rail and I flew over most of the rail but my forearm landed right on the end. hurt like a bitch but the feeling as you are in the middle of falling sucks.

My friend wanted to try a disaster to the third flat at 24sec in the video.... Ended up almost jumping over the rail, he thought he had too much speed on the takeoff, then he just realize that he would die just kissing the last foot of the rail ahahah !

Went to nollie into a 15 foot drop. Caught both my tips. That sinking feeling in your stomach when you feel yourself fuck up and can't do anything about it is terrible

THEDIRTYBUBBLECompleted the rotation for a flat 3 while I was 15 feet above the knuckle. Thought to myself "I'll just take it to 540". So I took it to 540. Then I realized that I'm still sailing away from the landing. So I thought "Wow I'm going to overshoot". Then I though "oh shit I've had time to say that in my head". And I slowly sailed to my hip/head.

I was cruising through the park on my new skis and caught my edge on a cannon rail. I swear I turned into a missile, watching my life flash before my eyes as I dove head first into the ice landing. It ended up being my 5th of 7 concussions and I was pretty pissed.

The oh shit moment on jumps was when I just went for a blunt three and caught my edge before takeoff. I let out squeals of terror just before landing on my side. No injuries were sustained, just a blow to my self confidence after seeing my friends laugh at me.

Went way too massive on a kicker between two trees and sent it so far and high that I hit an overhanging branch with my head. Was reaching for the grab and then looked up and saw the branch right before I hit it... I was out for 5 minutes... major concussion. No broken bones because i was ko'ed and limp before I fell the 14 ft on my back.

Ouch..
Squad picks up all my shit (total yard sale)
Ski down because fuck waiting around for patrol
No one at ski patrol/first aid at the base area
What the fuck.
Wait until ski patrol finally shows up
Fast forward to hospital
Doc tells me I have a ruptured spleen, bruised kidney, clavicle broken in two places
Oh shit!
Doc tells me I have a liter of blood floating around my abdomen.
Shit Shit Shit
No surgery, long hospital stay, doc says ski season is over
Got back on skis 44 days later
WOO!

Jerrys telling me to hit the jump. I do a backflip then in the second jump i didnt speed check at all. Sent a flat 3 huuugge and landed on my back.

Went to gap the first down flat of a quad kink. One ski made it and the other one in the back poped off. My boot then dug into the ground and made me tomahawk over the rail. I ended up fine but it could have been a lot worse.

The.FishFirst time I hit a big jump with speed I overshot it almost to flat. It was only a 30 foot jump (big for Ohio), but I was terrified.


I over shot a XL jump at COP, ambulance ride to the hospital. Flew like 50-60 feet

I was doing my first backflip, and i was going way too slow. I just sling it. As i was coming around at 3/4 i saw my tips hit the lip of the jump. I face planted so fucking hard and ripped out my edge. Next back flip i went faster and set even harder. I do one and a half to my neck.

Sent it off of Caroline's Couloir at Granite Peak (Gnarliest run in the midwest by far) Before there was enough snow. I was the first tracks of the season, dropped like 20 feet straight down to flat, only like 6inches of snow to cushion my landing. My momentum transferred just perfectly and I landed a little bit too far forward, double ejected and slid about ten feet. It felt like I broke my ankles but all I did was sprain/cut my thumb.

If I landed backseat, I am almost certain I would have snapped my back.

I was doing a disaster on a flat down box and the hill shut its lights off in mid air. It was after closing bc my friend needed to grab stuff from the top chalet and we had to get to the bottom.

Over shooting an xl jump at key doing a 360 bout 270 through notice i'm going way past where I thought I was going to land, land 450 smash my phone screen and crack my helmet also the worst dead leg of my life bruise was fairly gnar as well

There is two.

First is last year. It was spring skiing weather and the snow was kind of sticky. I was hitting the same jump; going straight to it (cause it was sticky). The sun was going down so it was colder ... and I didnt notice that it wasnt sticky anymore. I went straight down to that same jump ... but this time I had twice the speed of so -_- got hurt pretty badly and didnt finish the season.

The second one was in december. I did a 270 on a box and noticed on the box how sticky it was so I manage to pop off the box, but I cut at the same time ... I fly away and land right on my face ! Lol this should have been record !

was hitting a jump about 15 feet perfectly the night before, came back out the next morning all alone and felt pretty good so i tried a backflip first hit, sent it was too fast and just overrotated straight to my back. its a bad feeling when you know you cant do anything about it

Tossed a backy last weekend for the first time in a few seasons. Went way bigger than I planned and rotated too fast. When you complete the first flip but are only at the top of your trajectory...oh shit

BrucetheSharkHit a 35-40 jump for the first time and saw some lady skiing down the landing mid air and almost killing her luckily I missed her by about 5 feet but it was a close call.


This tear I was spinning a 720 and after the first rotation I see a gaper stopped right where I was going to land. Luckily I collapsed in a way that I wasn't hurt, and then tried to talk to the guy in the landing, but he just skied away, unaware I could have seriously hurt myself.

so there was this big jump, near alta, like 120 feet gap. And I had a pretty successful shoot on it, got a lot of good film. I decided to do with 900 mute, because why not. As soon as i went of the jump i knew i was fucked, and fucked i was. The "oh shit" moment really came at like 540 when i saw i fucked up. I land on the knuckle of the jump and broke both ankles, while screaming "I broke my ankles". I fucked up well, and to this day i still whine about them. And if i hear someone mention "chad's gap" my ankles break.

Yesterday when there was a contest in a park, and they only built a big sketchy 45 footer due to lack of snow.
I've only ever hit a 10 footer at most, my local hill only has couple rails ,and I also never went to any contest ever, since I used to have 10 days/season at best.

I was pleasantly surprised that I survived. My legs were still shaking on the way up, but after that it was a lot of fun and the best day I had on skis.

A few weeks ago, my resort put in a mushroom bonk. Went to Nollie over it, and I caught my tips under the mushroom. Both skis fly off, I drop about 8-10 feet into a scorpion. Not a good day.

yesterday I was going pretty fast trying to get enough speed to send a side hit and when i was carving into the side hit I hit a pure ice patch, both of my boots come out of my skis, but my bindings don't eject. I'm about to feet in the air about to come down on my hip on top of my clicked in, pivot bindings. Think it gets hurt to get raped by those things, try having it penetrate into your into your hip. I have a vid of it ill try and find it

7springs mashed potatoes melt down 2015
First one to hit the big jump in their setup
Didn't know what speed to carry into it
Went straight at it
Overshot
Fell out of the sky
Landed on flat
Didn't bounce or slide, just compressed and stuck to the ground
Bruised heel was my only real injury


Most recently, went off a jump, gaper proceeds to cross the knuckle as I was in the air, somehow I got lucky and had more speed than pervious hits and was able to clear this kid who was standing on the knuckle. Probably scarier than the first because I think landing on someone is worse than hurting myself.

Definitely not the biggest "Oh shit" moment, but today I tried a lincoln for the first time and landed on my back. I had plenty of air time but I just opened up too early. Funny thing is that it didn't hurt at all and I didn't even have the wind knocked out of me.

Shit a few days ago i was skiing over a glacier, took a line slightly too far to the left and before i could do anything about it a big ass crevasse was infront of me, luckily i was going fast enough so i popped as hard as i could but jumping over a big black hole is not the best experience

There is one traverse at Bridger that goes across a steep face. It turns into a pumptrack with really big whoops. There is one section where it just stops and you have to just ski across the steeply angled face. Well I was getting a lot of speed pumping along the traverse, but I forgot that this face was just around the corner. I carved around the little blind spine before the steep face, pumped the trough and lip and suddenly realized that the traverse had dissapeared. So I yell oh shit as I see myself about to land on my ski buddy. I flail and try to turn 90 degrees to land down the fall line, and smack down on the tails of his skis, backslap, and tumble for a little. As my friend laughs at me, I realize I had very badly damaged my sandwich and exploded pesto mayo sauce in my hoodie pocket. The end.

was at snow a couple days ago, sent a rode 5 off the first jump in the big jump line, probably a 20 footer, landed it switch on the knuckle and bounced 20 feet down directly to my dome and hip.
