J Skis Problem @JLev

My J Skis All Play have chipped a lot along the sides of the topsheets. I have only skied them in park for three days this season. Their performance is great, but I'm afraid the good-looking graphics will not be so good-looking by the end of the season. I'm fairly disappointed, thinking about just using them for urban... Has anyone else experienced this?Thoughts?

if you bevel your topsheets with sandpaper it can reduce the chipping, but it's just something that happens to park skis. get used to it

This is from you hitting your edges on the topsheets. No skis are going to survive you banging sharp, metal edges into the topsheets without a little damage and chipping. Land better, don't cross your skis and don't smack them together on the lift and it'll stop.

Just Facebook Jason, he's a normal dude. Post pics if you really think they are that bad.

I have a pair of Whip-its that I call my "beaters" but they are still in great shape. I put those things through the wringer during 70 days last year and the only chip is from dropping them in the parking lot.

I haven't heard many topsheet problems regarding J Skis so just talk to JLev about it.

you'll be fine, its cosmetic. Detune your edges because ill garuntee you didnt 85% of the time. That will help a bit

I have heard they have less durable top sheets than a lot of skis but they are still good skis. I wouldn't use them as urban skis just because they have chipping on the top sheet though.

all sandwich constructed skis, and most cap skis, will end up chipping. The best thing to do is to take a palm sander and bevel your top sheets off at like a 45 degree angle. Also, chipping will be at its worst the first couple of weeks you have your skis because your edges are brand new and sharp af. Just think about OP, sharp steel edges are gonna win 99.999999% of the time against standard top sheet material.


so yeah just bevel top sheets with a palm sander.
