Help. Having a real job and filming as a second job

As a highschooler I can relate. I'm working 2 jobs, have an internship, and I still do freelance work. Over the summer I just told my boss days that I needed off and they usually could accomodate them, now it's a bit harder but if you have to turn down a client you have to, no big deal, one client won't make or break you. I think you should try to get a job that has flexible hours so you can still schedule gigs or if you really want to take a risk don't get a job and focus just on videography. I mean I know personally I could make more money doing video than working a minimum or slightly above minimum wage job but I also like the fact that I'm guaranteed a paycheck and don't have to rely on freelance jobs.

I wouldn't worry too much about expanding your video work until you're in college, I didn't start doing freelance work until I was about 20. Be patient, enjoy being young, you'll have plenty of time to work when you're older.

Look into working at golfcourses. I did that for a couple years over the summer and they were SUPER flexible. I could call my boss and he'd let me off whenever I needed it. And it paid well and was super easy work.

I only started doing videos seriously when I was 19. I'd say just have fun while working on projects you like and don't stress about the business stuff for now. Keeping a part time job is a good idea if you wanna save up for gear, college and ski trips. You can still work on a few projects here an there

Personnally what helped me progress the most was the skiing stuff (basically the work I wasn't being paid for).
