ben_collinsI'm not against them I just think they are for a certain group of people and you would know best if it's time to upgrade.
nutz.you'll also need a decent lens support system/matte box/filters for them most likely. The total cost will be huge, but I mean hey if you can swing that, you might as well pick up an arri or a red to pair with it
ben_collinshaha ya. OP what type of shooting will you be doing? Park? Urban?
I think if you shoot backcountry they might work because you would have time to set up while the skier hikes and gets into position but that would just be a really really heavy backpack
ben_collinsCine lenses can be great if you're working on a controlled film with lots of planning and time. (Teton Gravity, Poor Boyz, Brainfarm) They take a lot more space, control and effort to use them although the payoff is huge. Make sure you have a follow focus tho as racking focus would suck using your hands. If your just filming park or even urban then there is no need for them as you can't move quick and when filming the faster you can move your gear the more shots you can get. Your gear should help you not hold you back and weigh you down.

eheathOP skip cine lenses.
CameraWizI don't think I'd buy one due to camera setup as of rn but im just wondering about them. I've seen and heard them mentioned a lot but never knew a true difference.
So basically not worth it to a low end consumer?
