Question for the down under shredders??

Where should I go in Oz?

I want to work at one of the Australian resorts next winter but I don't really know all that much about any of them???

Thredbo looks good and like it has some fun terrain and I know Perisher has a good park but could use some suggestions.

Where would be best for fun terrain, snow reliability, good park and a good social scene??

I know NZ is probably the answer but thats for another time.

perisher has more terrain and better parks.

Thredbo has more of a village scene.

I would probs choose Perisher over Thredbo as the park scene in Thredbo doesn't have that amount of variety that Perisher has.

This is totally wrong, Thredbo's terrain is worth mentioning, Perishers is not aside from some fun jib runs. Thredbo actually has vertical and some decent slack too.

Get a Perisher pass and if it ever dumps enough for you to buy a day pass hit up Thredbo (or use your friends pass)

that's true. but Thredbo's park definitely lacks the variety that Perisher offers.

For OP, if u work for Perisher u might be able to snag yourself an epic pass of being an employee.

I would contact both Perisher and Thredbo to enquire more about working for them as well as the employee benefits. Hope this helps.

For a good social scene, Jindabyne would be your best shot. (local town 30-40 minutes away from Perisher and Thredbo) You'll must likely live there as well. Both Thredbo and Jindabyne have bars tho.

Avoid Donna Buang (1250m, vertical drop 30m) . It's more for tobogganing and snow play these days but was big pre 50's..
