Rossignol. Why don't you make an FKS 155?

You still manufacture that toe. Why not pair it with the FKS heel? Please do this.

PS. The WTR toe is ugly.

your mistaken.

But i wholeheartedly agree that they should make the 155 again, realistically almost no one would need the 18 over the 155. I literally know no one running an 16 or above din, including many freeride world tour competitors, they all just run the 18 because the toe is constructed better and is more durable.

I also wish they would bring it back, but it doesn't make sense for them to. They would have to sell it at $350 instead of $400 because the price is based on DIN and not logic and the manufacturing cost would be the same. And now everybody who would buy 15's is spending an extra $50 on the 18's. Let's just be happy they brought the pivots back at all. 2006-2008 were scary times.

But on a similar note, a lot of people buying 14's would spend the extra on 15's, the 18 is pretty limited to larger people, I only have a pair so I can run a cast set up for touring and I'm running them at the very bottom of the range. I would replace my 3 14's, 1 pair of 12s and maybe even my pair of 18's if they made 15's.

It wouldn't be much of a stretch to offer since the 15 toe is still being used on the axial race bindings.

First of all, it would be really simple for them to offer the P15/155. The only difference between that and the 18 is the spring/DIN window. They would cost as much as the 18s.

Second, it would dilute their market too much. Look at what happened when Salomon brought back the 916. Nobody bought them. Yes, they're a bomber binding, and I purchased several pairs of the re-issue, but I bought them at closeout prices.

I don't think dilution of a small end of a small market is a huge worry for them. The parts for both already exist and theres no additional tooling costs.

It would make more sense from a market perspective to drop the 12,14,18 they have atm and offer the plastic toe as a 10 & 13 and then a metal 6-16 din that would cover a lot more of the market. Solly, Marker and Tyrolia have all taken that approach for a dam good reason.

I believe so, I could always be wrong but I believe there are two groups who this binidng appeals to; 1 there are people paying for the function of the toe and heal of that design. 2 There are people buying it because its orange....

I don't think the 18 din is the selling point of that binding for 98% of its market. If DIN were the end selling point then Tyrolia would not have had stocks of Peak 18's sat about for years, in Europe most of the retailers I know have FKS/Piv 18's sat on their shelves and have done for years.

I don't know why people assume the binding will be the same price as the 18. Ski gear prices are never based on how much things cost to produce. They always choose a price point and build something to fill it.

Why are the 12 and the 14 different prices? All that changes is the spring. An FKS 15 would compete with the STH2 16, and they could price it maybe $50 more than the Salomon, and it would sell. It would sell a lot better than the 18 guaranteed.
