NS Ski Trip

Soooooooo you know how ski clubs have ski trips?


Would anyone be into an organized 7 - 10 day ski trip?

I would probably set a minimum age requirement of 21 because... well... alcohol/maturity/actually being able to afford it.

Thoughts? March? Canada? Europe?

Most other countries in the world allow you to be an 'adult' at 18/19.

I would suggest staying in the U.S.

8 days at Breck with a group rate is $800(with 45 people). 7 days at Whistler is $1600 out of the U.S.(also with 45 people).

And getting a group rate with people traveling out of different cities is near impossible without the right agent. You could still get a condo/lift pass deal though. And if you knew enough NS'ers who were locals willing to house other NSers it could be fucking cool.

I'd be down for this and I'm actually 22 from Pennsylvania. *wink wink*

Benefit to Europe is that it's half the price. You can do a lift an lodging package at LAAX for $600 for 7 days lodging and skiing.

Europe: Flight is expensive ($600 - $900), housing/skiing cheap ($300 - 600)
US/Canada: Flight is probably $300 to $500, housing/skiing is expensive ($800 - $1200)

All you americans need to realize that your dollar is officially worth 33% more right now. So when you're looking at travelling, look hard at Canadian destinations.

$1,600 in whistler right now would only be $1,200. Sure Breck is still a better price, but just make sure to run the conversions on Canada and look into booking with Canadian companies. They all want your money real bad right now.

The trip we're doing is about 2100 Canadian, 1600 American.

Just in case do you want to consider Europe... Well... Listen to me, Laax has a rad park, Freestyle Accademyyyy, but damn son, Switzerland is so expensive! I recommend Livigno instead of Laax... Two big parks, Mottolino (the best win) wins every year a lot of awards and they organized Nine Knights twice there... A lot of parties and you have not to pay all the taxes we have to pay for alchol, cigarettes and tecnology (22% less)... We means Italians... And in April there are a lot of opportunities like if you book an apartment at least for 4 days they give you 4 day skipass... I suck explaining shit in English, so I hope you get what I wanted to say!

I would be 100% in for a NS group ski trip. Group rates are awesome and it would be sick to party with NSer's on a big trip. But i bet its like 95% guys....

I wasn't specifying laax, just saying it's cheaper to ski in one of the most expensive countries in the world than it is to ski in the states. Also initially mentioned Canada because the dollar is strong. Screw the US... We spend enough time here.

Legally able to drink would be minimum requirement.... I already organize secret Santa... It's damn near impossible to get people to manage an $8 donation... I expect $1500 would be more difficult.

I like the idea of revelstoke as well.

I imagine it would require someone from NS HQ and a third-party organizing it.


But I would so be down to do something like this. I imagine Whistler would be the best destination because it has a park and some sweet BC/big mountain skiing.

Oh, sorry... I was just trying to help. You said ski club trips in the OP so I guess I thought something else. And since I've been involved in organizing 4 trips like this, I thought that was something good to look into. But never mind...my bad.

Nah, totally get it! I could have clarified more initially. I was in various ski clubs from 11 to 22 and have planned as well. My issue with club ski trips is they try to do them as cheap as possible so that as many people can come as possible. Accommodations are meh and a lot of people go just for the party aspect of it and spend a big portion of the trip throwing up in sinks.

Been there. Done that. Now I picture a baller house, serious skiing, onesies and hot toddys in the hot tub.

I'm going to start putting together a list of options that fall in the 8 to 16 people range.

Requirement will be $1500 (USD) including transportation from LA, Denver, NYC, Vancouver, and Montreal, 7 days lift tickets, 9 nights of lodging.

I'm thinking March...

I already know that it's Possible to do Switzerland on this, so clearly, there must be other options as well. It's only $270 for 7 days of skiing in St. Anton and it was $400 a night for a house in the center of town that sleeps up to 12.... sooooo yeah.

Today I need to work 18 hours.. maybe tomorrow.

Now who would be interested in something like that?
