Help me with a school project: Voter ID

Im doing a report for a high school morality class on voter ID. If you don't know Voter ID is the measure to restrict the right to vote to those that can present valid identification at the polls. feel free to share your ideas everything helps, but also take the poll, Thank you!

Well, hypothetically, someone can be a US citizen with a social security number and be a registered voter but not have a photo ID. I'm not saying I disagree with your position, but it does mean that you could deny a 100% legal, 100% registered, US citizen the right to vote simply because they don't have a photo ID- however unlikely you think that may be. A few US State Supreme Courts have argued for and against the measure, so you will be able to demonstrate the arguments on both sides.

Its not like its hard to get a photo id though

As I said, it was a hypothetical example and I don't necessarily agree with the idea. Any report being done on the subject should cover it though, especially since many of the Voter ID laws that are currently being enacted pertain to photo IDs of some sort.

For some international perspective, here in Austria for example, when citizens register to vote they get a non-photo voter ID card that they must present when going to the polls. Without this card, they are not allowed to vote.
