Skis stolen At Keystone 11/13/15

Posted this in the Colorado forums, it was reccomended I post it here.
D.stuntzThis is my first post on NS and unfortunately it's not a good one. My 2016 line blends with 2015 marker griffons (both brand new, first day) were stolen from a ski rack outside the ticket office at keystone while I was eating lunch. There's a Vans sticker, safety meeting sticker and dragon sticker on them. Don't expect to get them back but figured I'd try. Watch your shit boys and girls!

That sucks so much dude. Blends are such a sick ski. But this is why I always draw or colour in something on my skis so I know they're mine

dub post don't care. Contact every ski place that does binding adjustments in the keystone area and ask if they've had apair of 2016 blends that fit your description.

I'm guessing you've done this already but check pretty much everywhere at the lodge area of the resort/wherever you left your skis. A resort manager mentioned to me that apparently some ski thiefs will move the skis somewhere in the resort that's not obvious but if they're on CCTV, they can just claim they took the wrong skis, realised their error and so put them down if they do get caught. They'll then return after a few days and actually take the skis then if they weren't found and returned to the rightful owner. I guess its a long shot but my mate found his board when it got nicked like this so yeah, I'd say its worth a shot at least

I did all the above already. Besides a lock, I've learned renter's insurance is a good alternative.

If it is possible you should dig up your old binding card or shop form and get the serial number and then contact all the major shops around and tell them if they get the skis to call you also report them stolen to the police or the resort theyll be bound to turn up

If you feel the need you can always buy one of these Tile things (usually used for wallets,keys) and crazy glue it to one of your skis.

I got my brand new Armada's stolen at my home mountain two years ago, and my 1 year old full tilts stolen two months later so I definitely know how you feel. There's only so much you can do, but these people have given you good advice. As much as I love skiing resorts, you do share the mountain with lots of people, and with that comes the risk of shit happening like this. Vibes and Good luck!

I'm always scared of getting my skis juked so i usually put one of my skis on a certain rack, and the other one on a separate rack, doesn't seem like much but if someone is gonna try and steal your skis they aren't gonna walk around with a single ski till they find the other one. They'll most likely just grab a pair that's together. Hope you find yours

I do this as well. its a good tactic and takes like 2 extra seconds and its worth it.

This is the way to go if you don't have a lock. A lot of people also use the technique of putting one of their skis with one of their friend's skis to create a pair made of 2 separate skis. I would advise against this because thieves probably don't take the time to make sure that both of the skis are the same. If they see a ski that they like they probably assume that the other ski with it is a match and they snag it and gtfo. Then you and your friend are both left with just one ski.

To OP, I hope you see the thief on the mountain and get to confront him and get your skis back. One time I set my gloves and helmet down on the table while I was buying lunch. I came back to my table just in time to see my gloves being stolen. I yelled at him and he dropped the gloves. It was one of my shining moments as a skier and it would probably feel even better if you were reunited with a brand new pair of skis.

I saw a guy walk away with my painted black volkl walls with scratched up jester pros. Luckily, I ran out and stopped him. He gave me the "I have the same ones" bs. That shit pisses me off.
