Boot Help!!

So the beginning of my season was today and I'm riding with last years full tilt boosters which I got last year. They're a men's 8 or in the boot size there 26. The problem is I wear a men's 9 for school and everyday life. I thought that I could handle the boots and get new ones next year but today while I was skiing I had extreme pain in the bottom of my feet and my ankles. Also my toes were squished and the nails hurt. So my question is do I need to buy a new boot and a bigger size or are my muscles just sore and I'm not use to using those certain ones? K+ for helpful answers

Were you fitted for them by a bootfitter?

Technically no. But last year they were perfect and I had the typical soreness and pain of wearing them in but this year it really bad and no there's no custom foot beds

Fully custom footbeds would be a really good start if you're not into getting new boots fitted. Mine were about $110 CAD to have made.

You said you're having problems with crushed toes, the footbeds will help keep your foot in a neutral position, and prevent your foot from flattening on impact/whenever. When your foot does this it forces the toes into the front of your boots. I'm guessing it'll do a lot in helping your other foot pain, but the best way to tell is to just go to a bootfitter and let him tell you what's up.

Go see a bootfitter. Most people will buy a boot that is too big, unless they have help from a fitter.

Case in point, I wear a 9.5 shoe, my first boots were 27.5. The second pair I bought were 26. Now I wear a 25.5, and I don't even try to ski in them without having work done.

Defiantly buy new boots or your gonna regret it. Shin and foot pains suck
