Nollies on stiff skis

Is it harder to nollie on stiff skis? My skis aren't super stiff, they just can't butter or anything. They aren't very durable, so I'm worried about breaking them too.

yes it is harder to nollie on stiff skis, but if you get it right you should receive more pop in compensation for how stiff the ski is. work on getting the actual motion of the nollie down on a soft ski and work your way up

The ski matter but very little you just have to adjust to it but some skis are better for butters and nollies but you can butter or nollie anything

Boots help. I was skiing in a boot 2 sizes too big last year. Got my new boots today and played around in my room. Already a huge difference haha

I've found stiffer skis are harder to butter/nolly/etc on flat/groomers but on lips, rollers etc you can get way more pop out of them (depending on the ski, core, camber, etc).

So basically the answer is yes and no.

That's the spirit! You're a good sport. Lean into that shit, hard and try it. When I was learning them I seriously was a pussy and wasn't leaning hard enough and my heels had vaginas on them. After a few times of eating shit, I started to get the hang of it. When I finally got some great fitting boots, that helped a lot too. I learned them on 169 K2 Seth Vicious, not a super stiff ski, but not a soft one either.

Just butter everywhere and work on the feeling. People think you just have to lean forward but it's a combination of leaning forward and trying to push your skis backwards, if that makes sense.

Also make sure your binding are set properly. There's nothing more embarrassing than nosebuttering in the lift line, and having a double ejection

This. lol. I feel a lot less embarrassed now knowing im not the only one this has happened to. In fact, I got my skis remounted this summer so they reset the din to like 5 and i was fucking around on them in my dorm (don't judge, you do it too) and showing my girlfriend how i could do a press on them and when i was leaning forward as fuck one released and my face just ate carpet.
