If you are looking for "normal" and or pow skiing probably Alta/Snowbird, Snow basin(never been but heard good things), or Brighton. If you want park probably park city.

if you ski no park at all go to the bird, alta, or the basin, even solitude is dope. If you only ski park then go to park city, If you want the best all around resort.... Brighton!!

This. Don't believe the Alta / Snowbird hype, Deer Valley is the best.

If youre SLC-based, the cottonwood canyons (big and little) will probably be the better choice unless you are down to check out PCMR/Canyons. As im sure you have heard, its a gigantic resort now and hopefully there are some zones with decent terrain/tree skiing that holds the snow. Jupiter Lift and 9990 at the canyons have some fun stuff to ski no doubt, had one of my best days last year skiing chowda at the Can. Definitely the best mtn terrain-wise in the PC area (out of the three).

The Cottonwoods, well, are the cottonwoods. Snowbird/Alta/Solitude/Brighton and tons of great touring access as well. Alta is an all-mtn jibbers wet dream, yo. We're talking kickers built up all over the place and ridiculously fun hits/flowy lines to ski on top of awesome terrain and insanely killer views. Probably one of the prettiest ski areas out west, I think.

Snowbirds a blast, too. Tons of lines/terrain areas with all sorts of nooks and crannies that keep snow blower after storms. Pow days are a like a dream there. Hopefully we get some monster dumps like last year where literally every run was hard to breath due to so much snow going down your damn throat.

Brightons rad, as well. More low-key and laid back (not quite as corporate as PC/Canyons/Snowbird can get sometimes) and its kinda like skiing those little areas back in the Midwest/east coast only in the mtns and more killer terrain. Really fun park setups and even more fun to ride when it dumps there.

Not permitted to talk about Solitude because super secret voodoo shit goes on there and everyone gets pitted as a result.

Powdays were few and far between last year, though, at least for the resorts. Just make sure to enjoy yourself and not get all bent out of shape if it doesn't snow, its still fun skiing regardless if you don't get pitted.

Deer Valley is amazing. Plenty of challenging terrain (yes its not quite alta)...but still some gnarly lines. The vast majority of NS will hate on it because it caters to the wealthy...but if you can afford to ski there its very very nice. Some of the best groomers in N.America and there is always pow to be found

Grooming is over done and sub par. But resort layout, lifts, snowmaking, infrastructure, and the experience is best out

Deer Valley is nice. So is being rich. Most of us make do with the resorts around. Go wherever and have fun.

Deer Valley. Go shred the gnar with the rich folk in their $2000 stupid one piece ski suits, and make sure to take your business calls on the lift so you fit in.
