Why are u pussies scared of getting arrested? If someone was trying to shut down keystone I would break all of their windows with rocks and slash their tires. U probably wouldn't even go to jail

Really? If keystone was illegally screwing over neighboring landowners out of spite and greed, you would still cause property damage on their behalf?

Whatever dude. You're probably just a greedy rich kid with rich parents who doesn't care about normal people that want to ski
veng_mDoes anybody have any updates on this? The guns are on.
do you really want to support a resort that goes back on its word, uses its power to squeeze the little guy, and is so hellbent on petty revenge that it's willing to gamble YOUR season for its own small-time moral victory?
Or so i gather from the insider information available in this thread.

Either way, we're pretty fucked in this situation. I think they're doing the best thing they can and if they plowed the road or allowed them to build a new one, there's terrain that is no longer skiable. It's all we really got around here; so whatever.
UPDATE: They knew this was going to happen so that is why the bought Hidden Valley a few years ago. They plan is to let the part of the resort affected by this to close and expand onto Hidden Valley.

then they should at least add another park to Hidden Valley if they are expanding

The best the can? Pursuing petty personal vendettas at the expense of the customer is setting the bar pretty darn low for "the best thing they can [do]."

It's their best choice for the future of the resort. I mean, its either plow the road and shut down the North Face (maybe even the whole mountain), allow them to build a road and prevent the possibility of any expansion, or do nothing for them and stand their ground. If they close, the region would be out on their biggest employer. Four hundred or more jobs would be gone and that would have a pretty big impact on the local economy. Shutting down a ski resort that employs four hundred plus people so two rich, entitled, fucks can have a "safe" driveway sounds pretty stupid to me. The bottom line is, the region depends on the resort and it has a big affect on the local towns and economy. Without it, people will leave the region and it'll be turned into a ghost town.

the bottom line is, the resort had agreed to plow a secondary access road(that youre not talking about, but is mentioned in the article as "dangerous during the winter"), but because the homeowners bought some other property that the resort wanted but was late inquiring about, they are renegging on their agreement to plow the road. Now they are running a public relations campaign to smear the reputation of the homeowners.

In this case both parties are being greedy.. like you said in an earlier post. Neals run was only a small piece in this whole lawsuit..
The original goal of the home owner was to sell that house to nutting for a crazy amount of cash, until nutting low balled him and refused to pay the asking value..
The home owner decided to start the lawsuit because he could not sell the house at all, and nobody wanted to pay his ridiculous price!
(no one else will buy the house because, of limited access, asking price, and dealing with nuttings b/s)
Knowing this, the home owner turned to using neals run against nutting in court to try and squeeze some money out of him.
Or so i gather from the insider information available in this thread.

Haha No.. where did you hear that from?

They will never let that road be shut down.. even if the lawsuit is won, nutting will either agree to pay the homeowner off, or buy the house from him.
Compared to what he makes off of 1 ski season, it would be pocket change for nutting to pay some people off to keep the business going instead of letting the home owner have his way.

After all, we know who has more money here..
Apparently that's the thing though- its not about the money. It sounds like the resort owner has a personal vendetta against the homeowners for, frankly, being better business minds and buying real estate out from under him.

The secondary road you're talking about is all still the same road (Neals Run) it just comes in from 2 directions, the north gate entrance through seven springs property (which is the closed section in the winter) and the other entrance is the sketchy steep hill coming from the indian head side (the original road used to get to the homeowners place, and the other homes on neals)
The steep side that he has to use has always been the only passable route to that part of the mountain, and it's always been plowed for as long as i can remember.
They could be talking about plowing his personal quarter mile driveway, that extends up another steep hill to his property.

It is about money though, Nutting agreed to pay the asking price for the house a few years back but then threw a low ball offer at the last moment.
The home owner wants to get more out of the house and property than its worth, and he knows that eventually nutting will break and either buy the house, or settle out of court..
He doesn't actually care about Neals, but is willing to use it against nutting if he has to.
This should help everyone at least have a visual of what Pence is talking about.
The red line is the east side of Neals Run rd, you can see it says closed in winter. That is the part that cuts half way through the North Face slopes.
The Blue line is the current access road that is steep and has supposedly stopped being plowed.
The black line is their driveway and the house is in the black circle
The green is where they want an access road built along the Lost Girl Trail
The white line and poorly written "expansion" is the potential expansion area the new road would block

I know for a fact the blue line, the road leading to their driveway, still gets plowed because last season, we ventured over there and skied acrossed it. As we were skiing, a plow truck came through. Plus, from what I could see, that road is pretty much flat and runs along side a big open field.
Also, I've never even seen anyone at that house before. I always thought it was abandoned because nothing would be on and people ski/snowboard through their yard anyway. This whole things stupid
A judge has denied a western Pennsylvania couple's effort to have a road remain open near a ski resort, enabling the resort to start making snow ahead of ski season. The Pittsburgh Tribune reports Gabriel and Gloria Hudock, of Canonsburg, filed a lawsuit earlier this month seeking to stop the closure of a road leading to their home.

skipoint0Shitty way of saying they're scumbags who look for something to go after so they feel better about themselves
You realize that it sounds like seven springs is actually the scumbag here, right? From the sounds of it the homeowners seem to be getting screwed over by the resort because they own property the resort wanted to buy...

But at the same time, the homeowners are being dicks because they want a seasonal road to be open year round, when it has been seasonal for 40+ years. If they have an issue with the mountain pushing them to sell, they should bring it up directly, not through a snowmaking "issue" that has been going on for years. All that aside, I get where you are coming from on the homeowners behalf

When youre getting fucked over you gotta use all the leverage you have, ya know.
TreestmanHas million dollar home- cannot afford to buy snowmobile.
Has the use of a snowmobile ben considered?
Perhaps seven springs could just purchase them a snowmobile to gain access to their home and the shitstorm will settle.
What pisses me the fuck off is the fact that the road has been closed in winter for 40+ years, and the homeowners only have an issue now? Plenty of public roads get closed in winter, and no one else complains.
