i know a couple mountains in Norway are able to produce snow when its above freezing, but I'm ot sure they're actually blowing it or making it in some other way.

I think he uses celcius unlike mosg of us on here. It is possible to make snow above freezing as long as the humidity is very low. Look up a chart OP.

Temperature is only one of the factors. Humidity is just as important.

Killington on has been facing a few inversions latley. It's been below freezing in town, but up on the hill it's been to warm to blow.

Also, if the temperature was 1C or 33.8F. How low do you think the humidity would have to be for snow to be blown?

Search the term wet bulb temp, thats how snowmakers measure their temps. 28F wet bulb is the max temp for reasonable snowmaking. Sure you can make snow it slightly warmer weather but its just wet af and shitty.

I did make my own snow gun a few years ago, they're very simple to make. The SnowatHome ones are very expensive and overpriced, it's really easy to just build one yourself. There are a lot of plans online and different ways to build them. Mine works great.

built my own nozzle and picked up two hoses then just used my air compressor and pressure washer. works pretty well, didnt work great last winter as the air compressor was broken. I used the plans from http://www.snsnowmaking.com to build the nozzle/gun part and it works well and was cheap.

TEH threshold is 28 degrees with low humidity. there is a solution made by chs snow makers that allows you to make it up to 40 degrees but its expensive and not really worth it.

well the threshold is technically the 28 degree wet-bulb temperature, but its always pretty easy to blow snow whenits under 28 degrees. I always use the snow-at-home wet-bulb calculator to know when i can blow snow, http://www.snowathome.com/weather/snow1.php?

I'm assuming dun meant gun haha, i actually built my own gun and i use some honda pressure washer and an old ass air compressor i had laying around, they meet the necessary conditions to blow snow and work so. I used the snsnowmaking website to build my gun.

build. TBH i have that and the snow at home home made kit but i prefer the hago it makes more snow.

There is currently no technology to make snow above freezing. Just FYI whoever said that.

Snowmaking uses a combo of temp and humidity. Needs to be below about 28 wet bulb. But at 28 you make nothing....

Well whoever is running your department does not know their facts or your snowmax rep is telling you false info.

Snowmaking is still nothing more then air and water freezing to making snow. This still does not happen above freezing.

This is coming from someone who knows a lot more about snowmaking then you...

At my old school St. Lawrence University there was a guy who brought his snow maker up. The school let him use it and was all for it. Was totally genius as he didn't pay for electricity or water.
