Now hearing that it could be as high as 30 - Unknown what the hell is going on.

Several explosions (possibly grenades) around the Stade de France, where there is a match going on. Two gunmen performing drive-by shootings with AK-47s, while 5 or 6 gunmen in the Northeast of downtown. There is also a hostage situation being reported. The incident is ongoing.

What the fuck is going on. This is horrific.

TheBigAppleMy guess: ISIS found a weak point of entry into the EU and then decided to conduct a series of random attacks all at once, probably citizens of the EU recruited by ISIS. Perhaps as an attempt to draw attention away from their main front line areas.

Still watching France24. Some people have managed to get out of the Bataclan theatre and are speaking to radio. Sounds like... well, like what was described above. Absolute carnage.

As for assailants - 2-3 people, not wearing face masks, enter theatre and fire on crowd using AK-47s. Gunfire took place over 15 minutes and multiple reloads of the rifles.

Paris taxis have now turned off meters and will take anyone in downtown Paris out without charge, just ferrying people out of the city.

now the police have reportedly taken out one of the three assailants in the bataclan, and has told everybody to stop reporting so terrorists cant anticipate the police's movements

Great source there bud. While I agree it most likely was an Islamic radical group, not all Syrians are members of ISIS or Al Qaeda. What you are doing is just perpetuating fear.

Apparently they are raiding the Bataclan? Not sure if thats been confirmed yet.

i never generalized syrians.... simply said the france was vulnerable. isis has started a hashtag celebrating the attacks.

We can't say much for sure, but it almost certainly was NOT retaliation for this.

This was a coordinated attack carried out in seven separate locations in one night. It's the worst thing to happen in Paris since World War 2. This has been planned for a long time.

Neither. What would be stupidest would be to continue to report on what's going on when Police have specifically asked for no one to do so so that they can undertake a hostage rescue operation without the perpetrators knowing what they're up to.

You can't really blame a single nation. Many areas of that part of the world are lawless and places that aren't can largely be bought off. The only way to prevent stuff like this is completely shut down borders, which is impossible. Even then, with modern technology, you can recruit and train people extremly easily with out ever setting foot outside of your living room.

You can blame Turkey for the ease at which they allow ISIS members in and out of their country. It was a well documented fact that they did nothing to the ISIS members moving in and out of the country for treatment, sale of weapons, and sale of oil. I am not saying they are responsible for this attack, but they certainly were foolish early on with ISIS due to their hatred of the Kurds.

But yes, to completely stop this, you would need a police state. Not just closed borders, but monitored electronics, government censorship, etc.

Yeah raid has ended and now hearing from survivors. Just horrible. People screaming and ducking behind chairs. Sounds like people were surprisingly calm and controlled in getting out - those who could get out, anyway.

This is the shit I don't get. Like with all the ISIS videos on the internet where hey just line dudes up and execute them, you know you're going to die, so why not fight back?!? You probably will die, but you will 100% take one to the dome if you just sit there and take it. It's not like they are going to have a change of heart two guys from you and stop shooting people in the back of the head "Oh lets just go home Akbar, I'm sick of doing this today. The rest of you are free to go."

At least go out swinging. I refuse to sit there and let someone execute me.
