I really like coming here and seeing people thoughts on how things are going in the ski world but..
Ever since I have created an account here I feel that people are just super hostile to other opinions and would rather just attack them then like discuss their opposite opinions.

i agree with the post above, NS should be more like reddit. Community in generally pretty chill and intelligent, most jokes & attacks at OP are in good fun and not so dark lol. Man just like spread the peace and love man

Mixed feelings on reddit. Reddit has alot of circlejerks, some subtle and some not so subtle. Since comments are usually sorted by score, you get the same repetitive hivemind beliefs, and reddit has a very distinct "tone" that you start to pick up on once you're on the site enough. Its sort of condescending, always trying to correct others, people acting like experts (and getting tons of upvotes) and people tend to be somewhat of squares.
The thing I like about NS is there's many different point of views since people dont comment solely for the karma, and you can tell everyone here is an outdoorsy adrenaline junky, which is great.

On a side note, If I had to randomly select a roommate from a bunch of people online, I'd rather choose from Newschoolers than any subreddit

Its skiing you need to have that sort of edgy vibe that is like 'fuck every motherfucker who go to the lift before me for first chair on a powder day.' Remove the edginess and it will feel like we are all a bunch of snowboarders who want to sit on our ass in the middle of runs and look at jumps and talk about hitting them for 15 minutes.

Considering no one on NS(as far as I know) has tried to commit suicide because of the mean things people say on the internet. I think it's actually fairly tame. Tumblr has had this problem and pretty sure Reddit and 4chan have similar problems too. Get learnt op!

Also there's a difference in people being dick's to everyone and people being dicks to dicks. If you make a thread that says "Newschoolers has a dickhead problem" the average person is going to assume you're the dickhead and treat you like a dickhead. You get out what you put in.

I honestly spend like 99% of my time on ns in non-ski gabber looking for funny witty comments haha. NS has some quick witted, funny dudes and girls on it. Just gotta ignore all the dumb shit and find the positive.
