Question for Musicians and recording

Hey so just curious what program you guys use to record with. I wanna start recording some stuff, Guitar, singing, etc. Willing to spend some money 400-500. Not much more than that though.

you could get a Shure sm7b but ... anything in your price range is essentially shit. Save more money.

Get a pair of mics for your guitar and a nice mic for vocals.

You could always try to find an up and coming sound engineer in your area that is desperate to build their portfolio. Hit them up and then maybe they will record you for free if they can use your music for free on their portfolio. That has worked out for me in the past.
