So I'm looking to snag some new park apparel his year and I have checked out all of the major brands and even some lesser more unknown ones. However if anyone knows about good hidden brands its the Newschoolers community, so I decided to ask what's a lesser known brand that sells great park apparel?

Here's what I think:

Just goto a few hiking stores and buy whatever gore-tex gear is on sale that you like best. It's damn easy when you forget brands and focus on the fabric. There might be other fabrics worthwhile, but you'd have to research. I've found GT is very good, also check their site for brands and stores: there are many. Also, the best gear to wear under a shell is Icebreaker because it is wool, and washes easily.

Also, check ebay for some ex-yuppie gear.

yup. I printed all the OG dais tees but didn't have time to print this round of them. Came out really dope still and def buy if you're into it.

Can't disagree with that. My hesitation was just because I'm not sure if they are independently owned or now. I think so, but was unsure.

Agree and disagree, any gore tex product will probably boost the price of a jacket up at least 100$ yes their stuff is good, but pretty much every other brand has a similar fabric that is the same waterproofing.

Gore tex is the brand... do your research cause there are many brands better and that have better warranty than gore tex.

As for me I've been looking at TREW for a while, super pricey but their stuff is looking awesome and dependable

ScottBevery other brand has a similar fabric that is the same waterproofing.


Marmot has 6 fabrics on offer including some new NanoPro.

Waterproofing is often categorized by how much water pressure it can take, eg when sitting on a wet chairlift. I'd also look at the water-repellency lifetime. How long before you have to coat some garment with something?

Anyhow, OP should look at how much he falls over, if he does that a lot, he's gonna need something very waterproof at top. I like the new Gore Tex active, it's light. I wore a $50 north-face jogging jacket last time I went skiing and it was awesome.. but then again I wasn't falling over... (and had something for heavy days.)

I have a tall under armour hoodie and a tall long sleeve. If you can find their stuff in tall sizes then I highly recommend it

i wear virtika pants and a hockey jersey. Not one of those fake bull shit saga ones. but saga make really cool stuff not gonna lie.

also depends on what kind of skier you are. big mountain skiers normally wear flylow weather as park skiers wear saga.
