Tanner Hall... A freesking legend? A pioneer?
NO, Get recked. This dude is actually an obnoxious bully and asshole.

Sure, he's been successful both on the snow and in the industry.... But this and all of his marijuana injections have gone straight to his head. Tanner Hall is certainly someone who we as a community should not look up to or speak profoundly of.

There are endless examples of Tanner taking things too far and making unlogical claims. He has a lack of brains, empathy and integrity. Roasting ski racing as 'easy' and calling out pro park skiers for their 'rollerblading style' through the park is wrong on so many levels.

Whatever the case... I hope his ankles are rebroken and stay broke forever so that he cannot continue to taint our snow, our community and our image as a sport. Red Bull made the right call in dropping their sponsorship, now its our turn.

It would be far enough to call me a bully for roasting tanner, but someone had to speak up. On a side note, has anyone else noticed that his computer has been stuck on caps-lock for ages?

Jesus. I leave the internet for a few days and everything heats up.

Tanner Hall should have hired a PR person years ago. This would have saved him quite a bit of trouble over the years.

That would have been the best move he ever made. Some ridiculous shit once in a while can be funny, but after a while, people get tired of it.

He nuked his NS, that might not have been a bad idea but he never really learned how to use social media to his advantage, or really just not come across as a dick.

He should sign up for a class called "The internet and me(Learning how to use the internet and social media)"

Also Tanner, if you can read this, I've got a keyboard you can have. Actually I'll give you 3 just in case you break the caps lock again.

Tanner Hall is quite out spoken, just as Kanye West is.. but they are both achieving on levels no one on this ski site is.. till you surpass them you have no grounds to judge them. Period.. Tanner is a boss. No matter how cooked his brain is he is still achieving on a very very high level.

DementClauseHe's definitely the most polarizing figure in skiing. Similar to how Kanye West is in the mainstream pop scene.

I love and respect Tanner for the same reasons I do Kanye. They are who they what to be, and aren't letting anyone deter them.

They both have FINE ASS wives.
They both have (seemingly) cool kids.
They both make their livings doing what they love.
They live the lifestyles they dreamt about.
They both have contributed a shit ton to their respective disciplines, a goal of any one who cares about what they do.
They both got casssshhhh.

A role model is someone you inspire to be like.

I mean, Come on, man, tanner spends all day fucking around at Woodward and at his outdoor playground, wait, I mean his house...he's able to give his beautiful wife and kids an incredible life. He's Smoking hella dank. Kicking it with world class skiers. Getting to basically do whatever projects he can come up with in his head, and having support from legitimate sponsors and people to get them done.

You can't honesty tell me that's not the fucking goal, man? He is in every sense of the word a role model.

He says what he feels and doesn't care what others think. You know how many people are to chicken shit to do that? People could use a role model like that.

Just because he's not afraid to step on any toes and is confident in himself doesn't mean he's not a role model or a cool motherfucker - in fact, it means that he IS one.

He doesn't have a wife and kids. He has a girlfriend, who has kids.

Bottom line, he acts like a child and a complete degenerate. I have witnessed it on multiple occasions, in person. I'm a fan of his skiing, and I despise him as a person.

Also, in terms of the people who are going with the "who says skiers have to be role models" mentality: cool bro, you're a badass and you think skiing as raw as fuck, sick bro! If you're in the limelight within any industry, especially sports, you should at least hold yourself to a certain standard while in the public's eye because, believe it or not, kids look up to you and people look at you. It's called being a mindful, decent human. So shut the fuck up with that shit.

Now that means that this guy gets paid to do one of the most elitist whitewashed sports in the world. This guy's job does not contribute to society in anyway at all. He doesn't save lives, he isn't curing cancer...this guy is like most other professional sports athletes....just a walking billboard.

You really want to have proper role models for kids? Walk down to your nearest fire hall, police station, or ambulance bay. Take them to a university to meet some researchers. Take them on a tour of an aviation museum. These individuals are people to look up to.

The problem is that we as a society put our athletes above everybody and everything else. They are just people who want to be the best at their sport/game, and want to sell you product. That's the sad truth for all sports.

Mcconkey is a big mountain skier, so is Morrison. Candide Thovex is still awesome...but how many skiers his age are?

Literally him and Tanner are basically the only guys still keeping the flame lit from those old days.

He doesn't compete anymore. He just skis his ass off on projects, features, and edits that he wants to do. After a decade and a half of killing it he has earned it. Hell he still goes to events like the B and E invitational and kills it.

He doesn't need to do comps to keep his sponsors happy or to make cash. He just keeps skiing for himself. Also like I said in my previous post...he is just a pro skier, who cares about his attitude? Did he piss in your cereal or something?

I still never got the point of the green screen thing. I mean there are a ton of sick action sports photographers out there. Why not just throw something in the pipe and have somebody take a picture?

I've gotten stoked on Tanner's skiing for the last 12 years but he's kind of been a piece of shit the entire time - so no surprises there. If you want to delve into his online persona though, he's not even edgy. He just kind of whines and complains and makes juvenile, inconsiderate comments which are annoying and obnoxious. It was entertaining like a decade ago, but now he's just an older dude tearing down other people who are doing what they love for no reason.

That said, I don't really know the point of this thread, because he's still successful and he's obviously not going to change. You don't tell off the homeless drunk harassing everyone on the sidewalk - you just give a wide berth and don't make eye contact.
