I grew up skiing and playing hockey, so when i picked up inlining it was much more natural to me than skateboarding. skateboarding is loads of fun, dont get me wrong>> I love the feeling of making the board stick to your feet in an ollie. rolling down the street ollieing up curbs in front of girls is good enough for me.
But for better or worse, I will always be better at inline, and thus I enjoy it more.

Its really kind of surreal to watch some of the videos pro inliners put out these days... hardly anybody watches them>>> Its almost like the whole world has left them behind and they are out there alone, doing it for the love...

I used to in line all the time when I was little and even went to Woodward at Copper for it. Nobody's ever said anything positive to me about it but at the end of the day I never really cared. I doubt it would be cool now and it's kind of annoying you cuz you need to take your skates off instead of walking around with your skateboard.

Im an exact age where inline was actually way cooler than skateboarding growing up in the late 90s early 2000s. But I never stepped up and bought 'skater' inline skates just hockey boots with wheels. Back then the sick inline skates had middle wheels that where smaller and didn't touch the ground for grinding on shit and the front and back were bigger.

I think its cool but as someone already said you gotta take your shit off and put shoes on so you can't go anywhere.

DUnno why rollerblades in general aren't more popular right now.

Used to play roller blade hockey with rolerbaldes that were basically just hockey skates on wheels and it was honestly so much fun. Felt more like summer pond hockey for sure. I never got into inline with tricks and shit because i never skied or got the idea, but i always thought about jumping off stuff and doing all this adrenaline rush stuff was such a fun thing to me. I was too little to really understand but that feeling still stays with me. Wish I could have done something earlier. I wish inline had some more respect. I remember some Russian dude dropped some fucking knowledge in an edit on here a few months back.

you mean where the guy talks about how inlining is no longer a sport because x games dropped it and pros dont make shit? i want to watch that u have the link?

biggest problem with rollerblading imo is that it's really easy to make it look awkward as fuck, unless you're the kind of person that's naturally steezy or have been doing it for a really long time it just looks retarded.

of course, who cares, it's still pretty fun. im probably going to pick it back up next summer if i stay out west

exactly. thats why i said style is important in inline. jeff stockwell looks like he is forever taking a shit in his pants while skating. his style blows, even though hes a pro.
other pros make it look sick and not forced.

skateboarding is different bc if u dont have good style ur not gonna land it. inline and skiing you can land a trick with gay style... style is thus important... just landing it isnt enough

i tried a bunch of the summer sports, inline is the only one i have stuck with. It is really fun and just dropping off edges and 180s are fun and kind of hard at first. Im not good at all after 4 years but i have so much fun doing it... I say fuck anyone else's opinion when it comes to any extreme sport... If you like it then that is the only thing that matters

I always get shitty skaters trying to chirp me while the work on their pop shuvits and i just go full speed and hit that 20ft box in front of them with a steezy lil 180 after, fuck those guys....

Anyways,this thread is dumb because inline is cool if you think its cool and that's all there is to it.

You see rollerblades a hell of a lot more in Canada.


I'll never forget seeing some fucking whack job in a Bruins jersey skating around the streets of Vancouver by the arena like he was a car with complete disregard. That guy was awesome even though he lost the rollerblade fight with a 'nucks fan doing the same thing but not as crazy. Hope whoever he is is still alive.

Relax, I know there's loads cool skateboarding still, certainly a lot more than rollerblading. Rollerblading isn't just underground, it's 6 feet underground. Might as well start speaking Latin and walking like zombies cause it's dead.

Also my favorite thing about inline is fresh flip hkd bearings. Dont rub and super fast. Fresh hkds make u fly around the park like ur on ice

I don't give a fuck what anybody else says, I still think blading is fun as shit. I used to do it a ton as a kid but after I outgrew my skates I never bought new ones, unfortunately. I got a chance to blade about a year ago for the first time in ages and it was awesome.

Damn. Those guys shred. And looking at their channel it seems inline is just what they do in the summer, when it snows they primarily ski.

Russians are crazy tho. In both a figurative and literal sense (looking at you Vladimir Putin).

and it i guess autocorrect got me there. I meant the allee affect - process by which a species becomes endangered and in an environment like the ocean, that decreases the density of a species. So there's less whales or something and more space and it becomes hard for whale or something to find another member of it's species and that furthers their extinction.

With rollerbladers it's like, you go to a bunch of skateparks and you never see any rollerbladers. Since no one is exposed to it, that decreases the amount people who start rollerblading cause they never seen anyone do it and that propagates the lack of exposure.
