That everyone can take video now and they cant keep going around and breaking the laws they say they enforce.

Video of cops beating up college kids for not allowing them to illegal enter their apartment.

Granite_StateI was under the impression that you only had to do that in a motor vehicle. If its on your property you don't have to.
its known as stop and identify statutes the law lets cops arrest criminal suspects who refuse to identify themselves.

That's a law put into place from a number of reasons. But on top of that, that cop was in the middle of an investigation clearly from that video.

It can get tricky by state and situation but it's generally a really bad idea to withhold your identity from police its a huge red flag.

They have to sit there and take it. As a cop, you can't just barge your way in and taze people because they were mean to you.


Do you not know how to read? You have no idea what happened before the video. How do you know its an overreaction by the cops?

There are lots of jobs where people are held to different standards than regular citizens. Police, military, social workers, doctors, etc.

That being said IDC how annoying they were being, cop had no right to pull that kid out of his residence without a warrant. Looks like he also stopped the kid from closing the door. All that shit in response to a noise violation? Embarrassing for the police force for sure..


I agree as far as threats go, but thundercunt is not a threat. If I said "I'm going to beat your ass then rape your wife" that is a different story. Obscenity is not illegal even though they are usually lumped in with BS, catch all laws like "disturbing the peace" or "disorderly conduct". If you swear at a cop, he usually gets you for something else if it escalates, but the sole act of swearing is protected speech.

Can you? He literally said what happened before hand. Yea, they could've attacked the cop off tape, but come on, no cop would be asking you to come outside to talk if you take a swing at them. They were getting pissed because they had to repeated return to the same house, which I think we can all agree is frustrating. That doesn't mean you can pull them out of the damn house, unless arrest is warranted, which I'll concede to you, we don't know if it is from this short clip.

It isn't really a problem, the kid obviously hasn't received good parenting and needs attention. But he is persistent and gets under your skin. Are you going to show restraint. Reading the text of the 1st, it's pretty clear what is says. The Supreme Court is not infallible. For fucks sake, they once ruled that black people weren't people.

You've made my point with your dumbass analogy and you dont even realize it. So if someone gets mad and starts swearing at the counter worker at McDonalds because he didn't get enough sweet and sour for his McNuggets, its perfectly ok for the counter worker to loose his shit, jump the counter and beat the customer? If that happens, he should lose his job and be charged with assault, just like if a cop did it, the same exact thing should happen....butttt the second one rarely happens.

I don't hate cops, as with most people, and realize they are a nessicary part of a modern society. All I'm asking is they be held to the same, if not higher standards, than the public they are "protecting". The second you critique police everyone gets all emotional and spews bullshit like "their job is hard". That's not a fucking excuse in any other profession.

skiforce1Lol oh man you have no idea what cops do. When you open the door to two cops with their hands on the guns blocking the doorway saying there was a noise complaint giving you a death stare. You can be polite all you want but they already have the mind set that when you are just watching a movie you are really having a massive party or doing something illegal. And when they push the door to be wide open almost breaking your nose in the process and screaming we can coming in, and you politely say no it doesn't go over well.


That sucks it happened to you. Doesn't mean that always happens. I lived at my frats main liveout and I was the guy who had to deal with the cops when they were called out- happened around 10 times.

I always simply asked them if we could step outside so we could talk. Worked everytime. I was once cuffed and slammed on a car hood, but only because some drunk asshole behind me tried to shove one of the officers. I'm a big strong guy, but I didn't fight back or resist and after the officers had controlled the situation, they apologized and thanked me for cooperating.

Cops are nearly always outnumbered, and are looked at as the enemy by dangerous people... Problem is, most of those dangerous people look just like you and I. Make it clear you are not a threat, make their life a little easier and you will likely not have a bad encounter.

Sure there are bad cops, but that's a very small minority. Respect and empathy go a long way when dealing with the boys in blue.

Yup. I should have done some more reading before I posted that. My bad.

At the end of the day I don't have a problem with people being critical of the police. My problem is making broad generalizations like all police are guilty of being corrupt, abusive or only in it for the power. There is a huge difference between saying 'cops are abusive dicks' and 'some cops are abusive dicks'.

Unless you think the majority of cops are bad and abuse their power. Then I'm not sure what to say...

Cunt is certainly considered to be a profane/obscene word. You call a cop that in public you are not under the confines of the 1st amendment. Just like flipping a officer off will have the same effect.

See Swartz v Insogna. That is the most recent case, but there are numerous others.

Obscene gestures/words are only illegal when they are accompanied by threats.
