Ski resorts in Michigan

Me and a couple of friends wanted to head to Michigan to ski for a 4 days. We are all park rats so having a good park or bad park is what makes or breaks it for us. i was wondering if anyone could recommend any resort that has a good park. What is Michigan's most famous resort?

Where in Michigan? Cannonsburg has the best park around, Nubs Nob also has a pretty good park. But why would you want to come to Michigan to ski?

well its mostly because I live on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin and just switching it up would be nice. Michigan isn't too far

if you want to ski park in Michigan, Cannonsburg is your best bet. That place is next level for Michigan/Midwest. Nub's Nob is also pretty sweet, but some times their park gets a little weird as the park crew is 100% hardcore snowboarders and they build some weird features and shitty jumps. But you can't go wrong at Nub's... high quality rails, usually a fun layout, and a great park lift for fast laps.

If you are coming from Wisconsin/Minnesota, you should just go up to Bohemeia and ski some pow.

We go to Mulligans Hollow for those sick POW days. Then it's off to Bittersweet to get a few racks of PBR for the after party. Then we head up to Crystal Mountain to ski the insane back country and tree skiing. Then to Boyne to bomb the hills and race. Tree Tops is next to get high as a kite. Back down to Boyne Highlands to get that quality pooo tang.

If you all can't tell by now, Michigan really has everything you really ever need. #SkiTheEast

If you're looking for a park head to cannonsberg. It's about a 30 minute ride from Grand Rapids.

DID SOMEONE SAY CANNONSBURG? This isnt even all of it..... hit me up if you are gonna ride there, ill ski with you, im out almost everyday! Its a ton of fun and there mad hot laps, you might even run into mike hornbeck or milbocker. Also I would reccomend going in February when they have almost all the parks up.

if you want pow go to mt bohemia,

not now though, idk if they're open yet and no ski resort in the us will be getting any good pow till at least mid december

A lot of people are saying Nubs but I disagree. I'm from Charlevoix, a town within 30 minutes of Nubs Nob, Boyne Mountain, and Boyne Highlands and I have to say over the past 2-3 years Boyne mountain has really stepped up their game. Nubs used to be far better 3 or 4 years ago but the past two seasons when I have gone to Nubs their lips have been poorly maintained and occasionally even set up poorly and some of their flat bars had a slant to them. Boyne Mountain on the other hand was my go to for 3-4 days a week of skiing. They were rated #1 this fall for Best Park in the Midwest" by Transworld Snowboarding. That was over Troll and Cannonsburg. Whether that poll reflects the truth or not I don't know because I have never been to Trollhaugen, but regardless Nubs wasn't even on the list. Boyne also have some of the best snowmaking equipment and have been the first to open the last 3 seasons, so if you are thinking about coming in preseason they will most likely have the most open parks/features. Boyne also has an awesome park crew that comes up with creative new features all the time! I agree that Cannonsburg is great! definitely want to stop by there but if its between Boyne Mountain and Nubs Nob? Boyne Mountain for sure.

My older bro is going to college at Michigan Tech and I'm probably gonna visit him soon. So, I was wondering about the skiing in the upper peninsula. What are some good resorts near Haughton? Is there a place that has a good park up there or should I focus on pow with my 90mm park ski? I have never skied pow so I'm kinda clueless on that but my older bro says he's getting dumped on rn so I would for sure be down to try it.

If pow is an option, that's what you should be skiing. Will improve your technical skiing skills 10x faster than park will

Have him get a ski pass from a fellow student for you to use for Mt. Ripley. It is owned by the college and usually has a surprisingly good park setup. Jumps are dialed in (probably due to the fact it's an engineering institution) and their rail garden was insane last time I was there. It was 4x4 (4 rail features wide, 4 rows of this) packed into a small area at the bottom of the park. Different lines for days.

Honestly Ripley and Boho were two huge selling points for me to go to tech. Ripley is small but it's fun af. I would recommend both two anyone who has the time/motivation to drive all that way.

I will for sure hit up Ripley but I also want to spend a day riding some pow. Bohemia looks fun but the problem is that I would be going with my dad who is a beginner skier and seeing the trail maps and videos of Bohemia I don't think that would work for him. Are there any other recommendable places near Tech?
