AgitatedHiatusDid anyone go to granite this past weekend? I was thinking about trying to go this saturday from 4-9 pm but I'm not sure.
Didn't go but I'm following someone on Instagram who went and it looks fun as hell and the snow looks nice. If I didn't have such a long drive to Granite I'd make the trip up
RparrOhio is still fucked beyond belief. Skiing withdrawals are worsening.
PA is the same. It's supposed to be 62 at springs this weekend. This time last year (and almost every year before), the season was in full swing. Worst start I can remember before this season is 11-12, but we were at least starting to blow snow around this time. There are few things that could even make it a decent season.

I talked to someone who went at my school and they said it was really icy which is to be expected.
Raining real hard right now. 10 degrees cooler and there would be 6 inches of freshies tonight. Winter is cancelled and Camp1806 might be reopening soon.
I for one am dissapointed that it's finally going to start cooling down. This weather has been so nice as a lifty getting to know the job and the spring skiiing at hyland has been fun even with the janky setup.

Yea I love skiing in spring conditions personally, it tells you to go out of the park and ski the moguls and just find fun things to do.
But it is so warm where I am that we have no snow, so I need it to be cold.
I'm bumping this because I think after this week Winter will be here and be here to stay...
I have skied 5 days total at mountains by me(3 days at my local mountain) I have never been so stoked to see this weather and honestly can't wait any longer... I skied yesterday from 10 am to 11pm and it was the radest day ever! They were closed today because of rain and then I took a look at the weather...

It's looking pretty good for a few weeks where I am (La Crosse, Wi). Definitely not the same as most years, but at this point I'll take anything below freezing with no rain.
Super pumped that my home mountain is opening Saturday, but with only one run and no rails its not gonna be fantastic. But at least its skiing!

Yea, I've been spoiled with 2 runs and 5 rails so if all the snow melts this weekend they will have to reblow which is a shame
SirBucklesNothing against park skiing but Aspen has such good big mountain terrain I'll most likely ignore the park for most of the trip.
I just figured you would go into the park... I would just be skiing the steep hills, powder, and tree runs because we don't have that here... Every where has a park and I'm sure that's what you do when your here so that sick that you are doing something different.

Thats pretty much everyone in the midwest. Ski park, but when there is fresh snow or nice snow you go after the big lines. Especially a place like Aspen with steeps and drops it is so satisfying to complete a run.

Spot on! Wish I was there! I went up last year for 2 days... on the last day I went exploring outside the park and was skiing the trees off to the right side of the mountain(if you are looking up at the mountain) It was amazing!
I'm going to be really disappointed if we don't get snow by the Wisconsin/Illinois boarder...
I am losing hope for this season, I need to see some signs of winter
I literally just sit around all day waiting for the weather... I have things to do I just don't do them because I don't want to do anything... I just want to ski
Right now, this "powder" that you other midwesterners are getting is 100% sleet over here.
I'm in Antioch it is right on the boarder of Illinios and Wisconsin, we got a good 3 inches of snow and now it is just sleet, but the ground is covered white and I'm happy
December 28th, 2015. First day of snow in Kansas / Missouri. We've had a winter mix all day and it just turned to a solid snow flake for this part of the country. 3 inches of the natural stuff (hopefully) and they are just now blowing snow.

That looks like a blast! I keep checking my local mountains snow cam... they just moved snow blowers on one side of the hill, but they have not been blowing yet; huge dissapointment
