greetings newschoolers, I've been lift skiing for 20 years and this year i'm pretty much set on not buying a pass and instead, looking to put the money towards a touring setup. I'm completely new to this and am interested to know a few things. At this point i'm leaning towards a tech binding. I do a lot of climbing/mountaineering and have had a lot of interest in combining skiing with the two, so weight/uphill is important. But, like I said, i've been a downhill skier all my life, I still want to be able to ski!!
The general consensus from this forum so far seems to be dynafit TLT might be a good fit for the use that I'm envisioning, maybe you would have another opinion or binding in mind. That said I would just like to have a realistic idea about downhill performance when it comes to this setup. I don't plan on lift skiing or crushing moguls or dropping huge cliffs, but small cliffs? steeps? hoping one of you guys might be able to paint a picture of what skiing looks like for someone making this change. Thanks for the help.
