does 7cm in ski size make a difference?
i had 171 chronics and could do tricks, but when I used my 178 chronics I could barely do anything. I got 176 punx this year and I think they should be good, just wanted to know NS's opinion.

gypsy_kidI skid 169cm press's last year. this year I bought 162cm ledge's. on a summer jib setup I could do all my last-year tricks. maybe you just noticed a difference because you were skiing 171cm one miute then 178 the next?
cdipYou went shorter, the shorter I go the more future I can spin.
gypsy_kidyes that's true. but what I was trying to point out is that I didn't notice a thing after not skiing over the summer

FROGGINBULLFISHwas expecting a thread about finger skis
SkiSurveywhy would you get smaller skis
Troy.Well, most sizes go up by around 10cm. Give or take. Let's take the 4FRNT HOJI. It comes in: 171cm, 179cm, 187cm, 195cm. All of these are a difference of 8cm, and this creates a wide variety of sizes that the ski can fit.
If you fit your skis by the traditional way (ski should go to the middle of your forehead), and 8cm = 3.15 inches, it's easy to see how that could make a difference in how your ski responds.
Your question is a tad vague, but it sounds like you want to know if those skis are sized to fit your body right. The answer is a little more complex.
A good skier can ski any ski. The best skiers I know also rip it up on snowblades ironically because they have fantastic awareness of their body and how to direct forces to make the ski do what they want. You can always learn how to ski your ski, even if the fit isn't ideal.
Now, is your ski the right size for you? Depends on how tall you are. Moral of the story? Don't sweat it, ski your brains out, and have a damn good time.
gypsy_kidI'm 169 were too big. But I only went down 7cm so it's not Much difference
gypsy_kidare those acually a thing?
w_skierjust rip the whole mt for a day and you'll get used to the longer length
