So many people are pretending that kids disrespecting teachers is a new thing. Yet, on podcast for example, older comedians are always talking about the crazy shit they did in school. Kids acting out is nothing new. Social media and cell phone videos is what is new. That does not mean we should treat students like inmates.

And pat_in_the_hat, she is an orphan. Plus, if boot camp is the answer, then why are their veterans who still commit crimes and do not have their shit together? There is no easy answer.

this sounds like more of a response in a pro-gun thread. The police can take upwards of 20 minutes to respond. Maybe more? If you live in the sticks, you're as good as dead if you're relying on the cops and somebody breaks into your home and wants you dead. This is irrelevant though I just wanted to point out the flaw in your hypothetical

I used to install alarm systems. One family I did an install for woke up to their mother being held at gun point. They were rounded up into a room while the intruders cleaned their house out. They called the police. Guess what? Nothing happened, someone went on a shopping spree for free and the police went back to fucking people for minor infractions.

I think you'd be surprised to find out that your average police department solves less than half of the crimes that are reported. Its easier to fuck people for minor bullshit.
