Thoughts on my photography

JoeyBolleeThis is my first couple weeks taking pictures and I am looking for some advise or opinions on my Photography!

It's a great start! So when you are taking photos a huge thing to think about is the composition, really thinking about what your subject is and how you can represent it in the best way. The rule of thirds and leading lines are great things to think about too.


My favorite is the trunk you have that leads into some branches with a few leaves. You do a great job at showing the texture on the tree but the colors are a little muddy, that can be a quick fix in editing.

Do you have any editing softwear? Taking photos can be so much fun! Just keep going out and taking more, and more, and more. Look in the "Best Photography" thread too and browse through others photos and decide what you like and what you don't, then try to emulate the ones you like. There's a lot of trouble shooting involved but that's half the fun. Stoked to see what you come up with!

Also amazing website! That timberline shoot came out pretty amazing, I snagged one for a desktop photo! I particularly like the one with the cat in the foreground

And op, just keep taking as many different photos as you can, find the ones you don't like and the ones you do. Pictures are a great way to tell a story

Thanks for the tips! And as of now I am just using a free software called Picasa 3.

First off great start. I can see you have an eye for photos.

All that I can say is Composition Composition Composition.
Seriously.
Google "Elements of composition in photography" and try to go out and take photos applying those ideas.

Keep shooting! You will naturally get better with time.
