none but dont wanna be broke as fuck all winter still dwelling in my parents basement so im interning and skiing all winter long. Guaranteed two days off in the middle of the week + evening shifts = making bank and skiing.

dudeeeee i got laid off and got denied unemployment because my quarters didnt match up after working all summer just to be able to ski as much as i want all winter.... devastated. Hope your luck is better than mine. They made a bunch of new rules and they are WACK!

I go the other way, work a lot over winter, but not much in summer. May seem weird but ski shops are not too busy in the summer. Winter started for me this week by getting back in the shop

In Alaska a lot of jobs are seasonal you pay into it some people will never use it I on the other hand use it for a few months

Same here, work full time as an instructor in the winter and have allot more free time in the summer. I will rather work allot at a job I actually enjoy in the winter months and spend more of the summer to windsurf and do other summer stuff when the alternative is working jobs I don't like.
Opening day is in 4 weeks so probably gonna be moving up there and start this winter around that time.

Exactly. With my company its all paid into as well. Its like a glorified savings and if you dont use it your essentially giving money away. Thats what is there for is to be used.

Yup...this is the problem with America. These type of people voting to get more money/benefits, etc from those who make the sacrifice and work 5 days a week all year instead of seasonally. I would love to be a ski bum I just value work and money more.

But then again its a loophole in the system I guess so nothing I can do about it. So hopefully OP makes some solid videos and kills it.

Two weeks or so left. I actually thought about getting a job this winter to keep me busy (doe to the forecasted shitty winter ahead), but I just can't accept the drastic pay cut that would come with said job. Free time (even if the winter sucks) is more valuable to me than working some job for shitty pay. If the winter does turn to shit, I'll just go on a trip somewhere.

I keep telling myself this too. I need to just snap out of it and quit my job so I can ski more but the money is tooooo goooood.



(I'm also putting myself through school so the money's kinda necessary.)

Both of my summer jobs ended in September. I made a few grand over the summer and still saved enough cash to get me through the next month or so until I start teaching skiing again.
