BROLFNo! if you wax them before the mount them it can soften the epoxy inside the ski so the screws won't grab properly. I've had 6 heel pieces pull out because of this! Don't make the same mistake I did.

steezyparkyhey i just bought a brand new set of skis and i heard from a friend that you should wax them even if theyre out-of-the-box new before you mount the bindings. Is this true?
THEDIRTYBUBBLEThe only mistake you made was buying horrible skis.
OregonDeadThat makes no sense. I'm pretty sure a few ski companies hand wax and even hot box their skis before they sell them. Looks like that is what ON3P does and they have a pretty good rep on here.

Poikenzepoxy doesn't matter when the screw is going into 90% hardwood, last I checked wood isn't made of epoxy. On a side note, melting epoxy depends on what a certain company uses. From what I've seen most are rated for over 200 degrees f and that needs to be a core temp, not what your iron is putting out as you slide it over a certain area for 10 seconds. Think structurally as well, if you were to melt the epoxy, your skis would inevitably warp- not a good thing.
