Heel piece sliding off

Blindsurferi recently got new boots that were the proper size and i adjusted my bindings (marker squires). today for some reason i re-checked how the boots fit into the bindings and i was surprised to note that my right heel piece had slid back into its original setting. i started to re-tighten it but at the slightest pressure the heel piece slid forward clean off the track or the plate or whatever it's called. i gave my other heel piece a tug to for comparison and it also slid clean off. what is going on?

Your new boots are smaller im presuming. You cant just adjust a binding in the track infintly, there is a point where they run out of track. It sounds as though you need a remount rather then just an adjustment

I dont know shit about squires but i helped a friend adjust his one time and i know its with a screw not like rossignols with a track but my guess would be you had it at the full extention or the teeth didnt line up so it slide back idk

I have a pair of marker griffons, got new boots last year so I took my skis to the shop to have them recenter mounted to fit the new boots only to find they were to lazy to remount so I guess they had just moved them up to the very last bit of the track and they moved but some how stayed the season then the last day I couldn't snap in so I went down to the ski shop and the guy pulled my whole back binding off my ski with no effort said I was lucky it didn't happen in air and that I should be happy my legs not broken or worse.



Basically op go get your bindings remounted at a good shop!

Dude that same thing happened to me but with jesters. I bought new boots and had them adjust my bindings. Picked them up and drove all the way home (40 min away) and didn't realize until I started to mess with them. I could pull off both heal pieces with my hand. They were hanging on by the very last thread!

To be fair to the shop, I went back and showed them and they were very apologetic about it haha. Granted they should've remounted from the get go, but when you lock the boot in they felt solid. I'll still go back there since they've been good to me other wise. I'll just be sure to check their work before I leave.

Just glad I saw it before I skied it or that could equal death.
