High School Music Fest

So last year I headed an open mic event at my high school. This year I've kind of lost interest in running the event, but I have started thinking about starting a music festival. The festival would be local/student bands and be a two day festival. I need to plan everything out so I can present it to my school board or whatever. I may be biting off more than I can chew, but I figure as long as I get a team to work on it with me it could happen. As far as I know what I would need after approval to do is:
1. get bands
2. get sponsors
3. food
4. stage/equipment
5. advertisement
6. merch?
7. sleeping accommodations (students sleep in tents with 1 faculty for every 15 kids?)
8. dates

Me and my friends have been thinking about this but it depends where you are from and how many decent bands are near you. You would prolly also need stages and a place to do it. (Might I suggest forest preserve). Also charging people is important because (depending on what fest you want) not only will you have to rent a space but clean up etc. especially if you expect cans to be strewn about the ground and the grass to be fucked up. It's not a cost efficient endevor unless you have the bands to charge a good amount for a ticket.

this is actually a really sick idea. giving high school kids a way to promote their music and also just listen to music made by their peers. definitely do what you can.

last year for the senior prank, the seniors did a mock coachella in the senior parking lot. a senior's band played, and everyone responded super well. they loved it.
