What you don't understand is that older generations were oppressed but girls who are now our age are treated equally and overtime with the older generations die out, and board members retire this will no longer be an issue. These girls in their early twenties need to take the time to work their way up the corporate ladder. I agree, but it has to be dealth with by people in a position to deal with it. It is our responsibility to deal with issues that affect people within our sphere of influence. There's really not anything I can do to stop FGM since there really is not an issue of FGM here in southern California, but I can educate about rape culture because that does exist here.

Where did that number for rapes outside of prison come from?

The studies I've seen show nearly an order of magnitude more than that.

The article you posted doesn't seem to provide any source for the 90k rapes outside of prison figure.

It looks like they're only going off of what is reported to the police.

Actually the DOJ has a huge interest in it because that's what one of their entire departments jobs are if you look at dark crime from the doj that is crimes that go unreported, but still happened. It is very important they figure out this information because they're going to be the one who's going to allow funding to certain areas where crime is high.

So college students are less likely to be victimized, and I don't even care because that's not a good thing rape still sucks. But what I'm not going to allow is stupid organizations running around telling me the second you step on to a college campus you have a 1 and 3 (33.33%) or 1 and 5 (20%) or whatever number chance of being held down and forcibly raped.
