no, AMD had the idea first:



apples will be better for sales in the us though. AMD is trying to get the 3rd or atleast upper class-3rd world countries hooked up with that thing (the P.I.C.). it will cost $185 and they will sell it in places like china and India.

it may not be as good for games, but you can run jsut about anything other than that on it. internet, ms office, dare i say even photoshop.

^not only that. take a second and look at both of the pictures. the apple looks all solid and quilty while the AWD or some letters i dont care about looks like something that i made in arts and crafts at summercamp in 4th grade.

its not fishy. apple leads the industry with innovation and insane new products and software. their development team is so hush about their up and coming products that i wouldnt doubt they;ve been working on this for some time now.

^^^ yup, i work for Apple and i find out nothing sooner than anyone else...they are incredibly tight-lipped about upcoming products, even release dates for products or software isn't always specified

yup, you could use a dell display screen, its basically just a computer, you have to supply the monitor, mouse, and keyboard

there is really no advantage to having a small desktop computer period! I know i cirtainly wouldnt buy one. the fact is, that no matter what, if they make it bigger, they can make it better for cheaper!

its a really dope idea, and it diversifies the market, it is kinda juts liek an ultra portable desktop. In either case i think it is a greta idea....and i can't wiat to see the next innovations.

apple didn't come up with the idea...computer gaming companies have been making these for a couple years now. i know this cause i've seen my friends (who's a hardcore gamer) from some company in the US and he got it 2 years ago.

not to take anything away from apple, but its already been done. maybe the Apple version is way better than the previous versions...i dunno

i dont think most of the detractors here realize how small the mac mini is.

It's two inches thick. It's just slightly smaller than a car stereo deck in overall dimensions.

The Mac Mini would work great as a client connected to a G5, P64, or AMD64 server (especially if the Intel/AMD machine was running Linux).

what are you tlkaing about computer gaming companies? give a specific example with a link....i don't get what you mean, if you mean game consols ( which you probally don't) then you are very stupid. Do you mean something like that alien computers company had a computer liek that?

No, Apple leads the consumer market with marketing and hype. No shit, they make good products, but ask 90% of Apple users why their product is 'better' and they couldn't tell you.

^ i agree. i had my cousin tell me he bought a mac because 'it looks frigen sweet' i didnt disagree but afterwards i showed what his iMac G5 could really do and what was making 'so frigen fast'.
