Hey NS, I'm currently in my third year of Mechanical Engineering and have my Honours Final Year Project (FYP) upcoming next year. Put shortly, it's a thesis backed by anywhere from 400-1200+ hours of research covered over the two academic semesters. Obviously I want to sink a hefty amount of time into something that I like.
Perhaps if anyone in the industry knows of any areas they think an undergrad could put his mind to, let me know. I'm pretty committed to making this work. Luckily, being mechanical the scope of my selection is pretty broad, along with permitting a shitload of diversity. ie, a project can be highly theoretical, show applied research, be a combination of design, building and experimenting or be an industrial targeted project – e.g. optimising/fixing a process thing.
Yes I'm aware this is grasping at straws - but I thought I'd try anyway. You never know. paving the way for new binding tech would be pretty wild
Cheers fellas (n lasses)
