When to put kids on skis?

Title pretty much sums it up, Oakleigh will be two the beginning of December so I'm hoping middle of March, start of April I'll be able to get a few days with her on the magic carpet.

What would you all say is the determining factor, with it? Strength is obviously a big aspect. I wouldn't think balance plays a huge roll since she'll barely be going.

Being a single mom, I'm open to any and all advice. Thanks!

Totally depends on your kid. If he's already realy active and jumping alot and overall has great body control you should be fine! Also just start out in your backyard at first, will be more enjoyable for both of you.

I had my daughter on skis the first time at 19 months. She just slid around at the base and down the lift ramps. The next year we took her up he lifts and she loves it. She is already asking when she can go skiing this year.

I will be putting her in ski school this winter. She loves that kind of structure plus dad can ride in the morning alone and grab her for the afternoon.

Go for it. One of the best things my parents did for me was getting me up on skis by the time i was 3.

Not to mention you can brag to all your friends that your kid skis while the rest of their toddlers are still playing with fisher price toys or something, idk im not a parent.

I took my daughter out to the resort for the first time at like 16 months, she probably got 8 days in that season. No reason to wait, if they can stand they can ski, or at least stand on skis for like 15 minutes.

The biggest problem is boots, 14 mondo is the smallest they make and that was still like twice her foot length at the beginning.

I've been using the hookease setup, works well in my opinion.

dad put me on skis at 2. Even before that he put me on his back a couple times, kind of dangerous looking back but he was a strong skier so i guess it was ok

My parents slapped sticks on me at age 3. The earlier the better. If she can walk in ski gear, she's set.

Start as soon as possible. I wish I had started earlier. And let them do whatever type of skiing they want to. I so wish I had started park earlier.
