Today is election day. Go vote! Take a few minutes and review the candidates in your area and the parties they represent and go vote for whoever best represents your views.
I hear a lot from young people these 3 reasons for not voting:
1- "it won't make a difference". But it WILL make a difference. Every vote counts in this country. Take the last election. More people didn't vote than people who voted for the party who got to rule.
2- "I don't like any of them and they're all the same". Then scratch your ballot. Those are counted and tallied. Scratched ballots can send a message. Or at least vote for the party/leader/candidate that you dislike the least, even if you do dislike them.
3- "they don't care about young people anyways". A lot of them don't. It's true. Know why a lot of them don't? Cause young people have terrible voter turnout. They pander to who will get them elected. If young people actually go and vote it will send a huge message, can change an entire election, and will actually make the parties give more focus on issues that affect us.
So again, exercise your democratic rights and go cast a ballot. It feels really good.
