Well since Tim posted a pic of the bent chets I'd say it's okay if I did. Here's a close up on the chets.
Photo kindly taken and sent to me by Cy. Not sure why you didn't post this yourself!
Ha! Thanks! Real nice looking ski in person, a tie in my mind with this year's for prettiest Bentchetler graphic. Thanks for throwing that up, was too lazy to grab it off my phone, when I knew in two weeks everyone will have seen it at SIA, haha
tomPietrowskiJust had a pair of these on. Not a bad boot :) that new bentchetler is so nice as is that backland ski
The new Hawx Ultra is the boot I alluded to in my NS interview. It is the lightest "normal" alpine boot (read: four buckles, non-walk mode, real liner, true flex). There will be an entire range of models from 130-100 flexes for men and 110-80 for women. If any of you guys have a narrow/narrow-medium foot, this boot will be literally pounds lighter than your existing boot and a significant difference on your feet while skiing. More agile in the trees, less swing weight when you get all flippy, etc.
If you caught the OR tradeshow highlights, the Automatic series moves into the Backland family as "Backland FR" and gains the HRZN tech from the Bentchetler, but just the tip. No technical changes to the Bentchetler, just graphic updates from Chris.
clayton.verellenWill pinnicle boots come out with a hv (102) model?
The 110 and 100 both come in 102. The 130 comes in 96 and 100 and the pro just 100. But remember they all have heat mouldable shells so the given measurement is only a starting point.

Ok, hold up. So in regard to the pinnacle, there is; ?
-4 models
-All with tech inserts in the plastic
-higher instep
-heat moldable shell
Please tell me they fixed the buckle/walk mode issues on them?
Did they get any lighter?

- there are four models, pinnacle pro, 130, 110 and 100 (100 and 80 for woman) but the 100 and the 80 for woman don't have tech inserts, the rest do.
- the volume of the instep and throat will change depending if it's low volume (97mm), mid (100mm) or high (102mm)
- all boots from k2 have a heat mouldable shell, including the new pebax pinnacle pro.
- you will be as pleased to know as me that the walk mode does feel much better. I have been on the pro for a little over a month and once I got the cuff pivots tightened there has been no play in the cuff. They are way better then the 130's I tested last season.
-the new pebax pinnacle pro loses 380g of weight compared to the 130.

Damn! Alright, thanks. The pro sounds sick, looking forward to a full review.

Are they seriously going to be that much lighter? I'd be pretty damn thrilled with that.
Yep, and not just the top model but all models will be super light (but the top model is the lightest). The 130 weighs 1680g in size 26.5 and most "normal" ski boots are around 2,200g (some are lighter, some are heavier), which makes the difference over 1 pound per boot. Quick math is over 2 pounds per pair. Now there are other lighter boots coming out this year from other brands, but they will have walk modes.
So... Between KF (I'm assuming?) and Daymaker we've got two day wrecker improvements? Interesting, most interesting.... But this one requires the CAST Tech toe mod right?

It will be compatible with Lupo TI, Lupo TI Carbon, Cochise line, Pinnacle line, XT Tour line, Roxa Cliff Notes, or any boot with the toe mod.
japanadaJust alllllmost, kinda, reminds me of the OG lizzys at first sight.
I can see that. I love that era of pollard's drawings. The original Black and White Lizzy, green Sir Francis Bacon with funky animals, and the second EP Pro with the tree design from the credits of IDEA. I just need to find some old SFB's and complete my collection.
