Replying to Ski edits taking a wrong turn

First I want to start out by saying that this post is strictly subjective and reflect only the opinions of myself and a few others who have approached me regarding this topic...

That being said, what in the f*ck is going on with the edits that have started to pop up with in this past year?! The complete lack for any sort of skill with a camera, fake fish eye filters from 90s skate edits, god awful dark-mooded music, absolute shit cut and editing, audio clips from old movies, and filming in qualities that haven't been used since 1992. Now Im not talking about all the iphone filmed edits that plague this site, Im talking about edits from skiers that are on the top of the game. Now I know some of you will say things like "Its artistic and creative" and "edits like these were at the roots of our sport" but I for one am thankful for the technology we have in this day in age, and see no reason to throw it back on any other day than Thursday. And that was just referring to the style of the edits. Would anyone like to explain to me why we are watching edits with music from the Twilight Zone, or the reasons for the random audio clips from characters like elvis or dead presidents? What are your thoughts? I am interested to see what the rest of NS thinks about this topic...
