Internet censorship has begun

I dont know if any of you are familiar with 8chan (also known as infinite chan) -- the even more open, no holds barred bastion of free speech compared to 4chan.

Google has made a landmark decision to block the link from showing up in their search results.

Its funny, watching the death throws of political correctness as it slowly bleeds out onto tge cold pavement...

We will win. Its called the sausage effect :)

the problem is, if they block them and get support by the people, what is next? Blocking websites that don't support certain politics? Or block websites that speak against the government? Start blocking other forums that support free speech? Block websites that speak against the war?

the piracy I can see for legal reasons.. The blocking the "fucked up shit" to me sounds like only the beginning.

look i am a guy that disagrees with over censorship and political correctness but 8chan is just about the most fucked up place on the non deep web internet. i myself have never been on but everything ive heard is just way to fucked up to even say. its up to google to say whether or not they want to be associated with a site like that and its respectable that they dont want to give the site traffic. they arent banning the site they just dont include in their list of thing you can find through them and that respectable

I completely agree. I was referring to internet censorship in general...

But I just realized that it's because most of those things are illegal so it's different

No way man that would be the beginning of the end. That would open the door for everything else to be blocked. Before we know it the whole internet would be gone all because you wanted a few sites blocked

I imagine a "no holds barred" version of 4chan is like 80% CP, 10% incest, 5% mass murder discussion, and 5% hacktivist.

So yeah, they're probably blocking it because of CP.

Child porn gets banned on both 4 and 8....

The reason google blocked 8ch is because it continued to host gamergate discussion after 4ch shut those discussions down
