Just purchased my seasons pass to Killington but live about 4 hours away. I plan on skiing 3 to 4 days a week but hotels may get costly. On tips on getting cheaper rates or other alternatives?...

get shitfaced at a local bar, tell your sob story of having no where to stay, get invited back. Clean their house, and have coffee waiting for them when they wake up in the morning. get invited back.

I have a 2 door, if you have a 4 door you'll have a little bit more room. I just took out the back seat completely, laid down some blankets and slept in a sleeping bag. Some people say to let your car heater run for a little while at a time. There is no point in your case. It lasts for a minute or two and then it's cold in there because soft tops are not really meant for winter. Wet clothes are a bitch so try to keep your stuff dry.
Make friends at the mountain and ask them if you can sleep on their couch. You really don't want to sleep in your jeep all season.

Nah, im talking about the places where 15-20 people go in on a 6 month lease for a cabin. It might be too late, but you can usually nab one of the last spots on CG when someone from the group flakes or they want an extra paying body or two.

-40 bag and a few hot bottles of water and you're good to go. Find a girl obsessed with skiing and use her body heat to stay warm. sleeping in your jeep a couple nights a week ain't no thing and it makes for a good story.

Tried google. Apparently my area isn't cool enough to have houses like that. There are vacation rentals but that's not quite economical for anything more than a weekend

As a bum my self I'm always willing to put someone up for the night if they need a place to go. If you're up there that much you will probably meet a couple people with couches.
And if it does come down to a few nights in a hotel, go to Rutland. It's about 30 mins from killington, but will be way cheeper.
Castleton state college is also around 45 mins from killington if you'd rather try your luck on a (pretty small) college campus

I'm 5'3 so it worked for me. It's a bit better than a tent in my opinion!
Build a snow cave bitches love snow caves. Look at the local topo maps check for ravines, done and dusted. Get a decent snow saw build it under ground with a trap door and two vents through the rocks. Would only take you about three days to build just have to hide the blocks that you've cut out. Use them for your back country park, trap and kill local gapers on your park and reap the rewards of the snow cave life

Hyes i think finding a chill spot to park and staying in your car .I have a sedan andit is stoll pretty comfortable. I got the ida of ho to sleep from eric olson from a traveling circus episode. Fold down your back seat and sleep with your fet in the truck. Some comfortsthat really help is a memory foam mattress pad. It really helps. Good luck hipe you get to shred 3 or 4 days week like you planned that is hard to do finacislly physicslly and just logistically.

I work construction all summer and collect unemployment in the winters plus I already purchased a seasons pass. The only thing stopping me from skiing all week is lack of place to stay and not spending hundreds on a hotel.
My uncle told me him and his buddies would just talk to people on the lifts all day til they found a party then they'd go smash and crash there for the night.

Actually I pay into my own unemployment. It's not being a parasite, it's called being intelligent and finding a job that enables me to spend as much time on the mountain every year as possible. I work my balls off all summer so I can enjoy my winters.

My whole company of over 400 people collect unemoyment that EVERYONE pays into individually. And in case you are unaware, tons of up and coming pros do the exact same thing because they don't make enough just skiing as up and coming pros.
