Need help choosing freeride ski

Which 2016 freestyle skis around $500/600 do you guys suggest

2.0s might suit him better. Id also look at

ON3P Kartle 98/106 (perform really well in the park)
J skis All Play great on groomers (great in the park too)
Moment PB&J These things can charge and are stiff (I have Vice and love them)

Line Mordicai's are beautiful and ski like a dream anywhere

I dont think that a kartel 98/106, Blend, Allplays, Candide 2.0/3.0 etc. are the skis that will suit your needs, because all of them are built pretty symmetrical and not really stable.

You said you re throwing mayyyybe some 360s or sliding some boxes, but in comparison you want to ski the rest of the mountain pretty hard.

I would recommend you a more directional and stiffer ski for the place where you live:

-The Moment PB&J (101mm, 182cm) was already recommended before. Imo its worth the purchase if you still wanna ski playful, lots of switch etc. . Is stiff, so you can charge over the whole mountain. i would mount it around -3/-4cm from true center.

-Armada ARVti (98mm, 178cm, the ski you choosed) is more directional than f.e. the Al Dente (from Armada) and also stiffer. I think that this one will work really well in Arizona too.

-4FRNT Gaucho (100mm, 179cm with metal) if you like to charge everywhere. hardpack, crud or ice doesnt matter. They work really well everywhere in every condition. Really stiff imo.

-The 4FRNT Devastator (108mm, 184cm) is way more playful and symmetric built. And wider than the Gaucho, 108mm. Idk much more about the skis, because these are ridding by a friend. I ve never ridden them before, he just told me a bit. that he really likes this ski as an every day ski^^

-Icelantic Nomad (105mm, 181 cm) is maybe also worth to considerate. More playful, comparable to the Moment PB&J, but a bit softer. Maybe not the best choice when it gets icy. Waayyy less grip than a 4FRNT Gaucho.

-Salomon Q-Lab (104mm,181cm): Pretty hard charging ski, stiff. One of the stiffest skis i ve listed here :) Imo same flex as the Gaucho.


I think there are wayy more skis on the market, that will may suit your needs, but I dont know nothing about these, thats why I haven't listed them above.

I tested already the 4FRNT Gaucho as well as the Salomon Q-Lab and the Moment PB&J. The others i ve listed above are ridden by two of my friends as an everyday ski for the northern alps (I thiink similar coniditions as in Snowbowl (?)).

I also added the best length for you^^
(Bindings: Salomon STH2 13, Look Pivot 12/14, Tyrolia Attack 12 or 13)

Maybe some others know some more skis. I wouldnt buy a soft and light ski, like the Candide 3.0, for that area where you wanna ski. You will need sth. that can hold an edge everywhere and can charge also pretty well on icy slopes or on crud and so on.
