Dalbello Il Moro T Comp or Rampage

This is my 3rd year on skis (from snowboard). I'm intermediate park (basic rails/boxes) I spend maybe 50% of my time there. I started going bigger last year and a mix of backseat landings and I believe over sized boots left me with bad shin bang and I lost my toe nails!

This year I got fitted and Rampages fit me the best (down a full size).
I'm 5'10" 160# Ski ~20 a year.

I can get Il moros for maybe 20 bucks extra but I'm wondering if the flex is going to be to much for me. Can the 120 flex be adjusted down a good deal and is the fit close to the Rampages? Do you believe one would be better or the other for my ski type?

When I was about your size i had the rampages and really liked them, but when I got ill moros after a few years of park I really liked the extra flex. I feel like you could grow into a 120 flex if you're trying to get a long life out of them, but wouldnt be held back by the 110
(?) of the rampage.
Also, look into tongue options for both. I know some models can be set up with a stiff or soft tongue...

The way it was explained to me is both boots are similar (the same?) inside, but are made from different plastics for different applications.

The il moro uses translucent plastic and even though overall boot is stiffer the plastic is gummier and not quite as responsive to be more forgiving while the krypton, while a softer flexing boot, uses opaque plastic to be more responsive/snappier for all mountain riding. If you go the id route, the liners will be different densities of ultralon foam.

OP, also know that the flex of Dalbello boots are super easy to customize by changing out the tongues for different stiffness.

Also do you think one or the other would be better for shin bang? Again I'm landing back seat every now and then while progressing.

Im leaning towards the il moro. Prolly buy em next week; unless someone has something else to add.

The one that's better for park is the one that fits you best. No boot model is "better" than another for park. The one that's better for shin bang is also the one that fits you best. Get whichever one you like most if they have the same fit and swappable tongues.

Good luck man, i'm getting fitted for new boots in a couple weeks too, can't wait.

I was on Rampage's for 6 years. Great boot, fit my foot VERY well and was comfortable. My biggest problem is the flex though. I hate the progressive flex on it. It was just to soft for me. I am a very aggressive advanced skier though so perhaps our styles are different. Its a great park boot, but for all mountain to really drive a stiff ski around it just doesn't have enough oomph in it. I will say I never had shinbang which was really nice.

I found the rampages WAY too soft even with the flex helpers in the back. I now use the Il Moro T Comp with the added flex stiffeners in the back and find it to be the perfect flex for winter skiing. (Boots are stiffer in the winter). It would probably bee too stiff but I use Booster straps which have bungee material to help with shin bang. Btw I weigh 164 and am 5'8".
