j-calHonestly i was not a fan. I dont get it.... To me it felt like they were trying way to hard to be funny. Every joke felt forced and out of place. I personally dont see the concept. Watch random kids comment on movies? It just did not grab my attention.
That being said i have a weird sense humor others might find this funny. Who knows. If you like it who cares? Do what you think is funny. Not what others find funny. If your comedy is true to yourself it will show on screen. If you truly find you jokes comical the audience will to.
Hey thanks for your critique, even though it's not fun to hear, I definately will take it into consideration for a few things!
I have a few points which really I hope you don't see as a rejection of your criticism, more of a way to check where you would stand with certain corrections.
I do get a lot of feedback about the concept not being very clear and the fix for that is already planned. I will have an intro sequence explaining quickly that I get together with a few friends, watch B movies to get drunk and make jokes/ have a laugh together. I feel like right now the concept is really un clear without this, which makes the viewer somewhat wonder whats going on, where is this going and that distracts in a bad way.
About the jokes feeling forced and out of place. I did get a lot of good feedback on the jokes, people found it funny and had a good laugh... they were mostly my friends. As much as it sucks to hear that someone neutral did not find it very funny, it means I should test it with a larger audience to really see if there is something here.
The tricky part with the jokes looking forced is that I am actually trying to sell the fact that they are. It sounds wierd, but I try to show that we got together in the purpose of cracking jokes as we watch a movie and the focus goes on the fun we are having together. The reason for this is that I want to eventually get funding from B movie studios and distributers. The reason why they might want to fund this, if ever successful, is because I am showing people a good time between friends that they can recreate themselves. The hope is that people will see the fun we are having together and want to do it themselves by renting some B movies with friends and having a good laugh.
I do plan on cutting back the final length of the video however so I will definitely try to focus on cutting back jokes that are too forced.
