Woodward Copper

For those of you who don't know, I have worked year round coaching and counseling at Woodward Copper for the last 2 years, going on 3.
Over the last 2 years we have seen a significant decrease in "core" customers. This obviously is a real bummer for the employees working there. We are slowly becoming more and more like a glorified daycare.

So why am I making a thread about this...???

Because I want to fix this problem! I want to see actual skiers and snowboarders working on actual tricks. Not just 35 little children jumping into foam pits.

Newschoolers! Let me be your ambassador to Woodward Copper for you.

If you want to come in and the prices are just too ridiculous for you, then hit me up! I can try to get you a discount!

If you want an on-snow lesson, but are worried you will get a coach you don't like or whatever. Hit me up! We can work out a time this winter when I can coach you!

If you want to go but don't have any friends and don't want to go alone. Hit me up!

If you have any questions please let know! The Barn facility has the potential to be an incredible tool for your progression. I don't want to see it go to waste.

I used to coach gymnastics at Woodward PA some summers back haha. I'd love to move out to Colorado for the summer and be like a counselor or something. That would be so so so sick.

Session 3 for reference, I noticed this aswell. I feel like the majority of those kids who aren't 'core' are FOR SURE, FOR SURE, FOR SURE coming from scootering, bmx, and skating. They don't have a use for the foam pits other than to just jump in and be a nuisance. Sure skaters and bmx riders and scooter-ers can use the skate lite. I saw two skaters the entire week on the skate lite into the foam, no bmx, no scooters. I think Woodward has just opened up their doors a little too wide, as they have a right to. It packs more kids into the barn. They're all in there for a reason, they all have their specific areas they can actually improve in, yet they don't use them. For anyone wondering about Woodward, I'll sum it up.



Holy shit. You could probably go into camp knowing only how to backflip and come out knowing how to cork 7, flat 5, anything. The skate lite and trampolines are perfect for progressing your jump game, you strap on a pair of roller skis and throw what ever you want into a foam pit. You can hit a ramp sending you 10 feet, or 40, it's perfect. It sucks to see the whole problem of I guess 'casuals' being more and more prominent, but it has to happen to an extent during public barn hours. There's no good way to get around without being blunt and rude imo, but maybe that's how the staff should enforce public barn hours. I think people should realize it's colorado's premiere training center, not skyzone.

Yep. Working at Woodward is turning me into a grumpy old grouch. We are basically sky zone with nice foams pits. And it upsets me.

i learned my first technical trip on tramp at woodward when i went out west 2 years ago. Josh taught me how to do a misty 540 haha. Its kinda a shame to hear that its gone downhill since then.
