No snow rail dilemma

Ok guys I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on this. So I have a slight hill in my backyard, it's big enough that in the winter I don't need a drop in to hit my homemade rail. So my question is, would lining pvc on planks generate enough speed to allow me to hit a rail? Or should I just suck it up and wait for snow.

Someone does the same thing in youtube, his name is Ben Washburn. His setup is that and he uses poles to push to start him up. If you have a good enough hill it could work

This. Or if it's really a good enough hill, lie some some turf, carpet, ect on the grass like a drop in. without the structure.
