Where will Gopro be in 5 years?

Just looking for thoughts on where gopro will be in 5 years. Is this a fad that's already starting to die? Or will this name live on and be in households for years to come? Will gopro's ever be replaced by another product? Are gopro's still wanted by people? Just looking for other views on gopro as a brand and a company!

GoPro as we know it now will still be around. Just more cost-effective. The technology will become more readily available in the marketplace as the price of production lowers. I'm sure they will have something up their sleeves to remain current.

With that said if they can't continue to innovate their products they will be like Sony portable music players; just a thing of the past.

They will get smaller, lighter, with more shooting options. Their line has already began to diversify with price point product and premium. I expect to see them staying around for quite a while, improving slightly each year just like phone companies.

They're a market leader and really no one can touch them when it comes to presence. They definitely won't be gone in 5 years.

This is how I feel, but do you think cameras as a whole are starting to die off? Will people ever not want to shoot videos of themselves? They're also trying to get into drones, do you think this market's already too saturated for them to compete?

If you've ever seen how many selfie sticks tourists have, I think you'd agree that people want video/pictures of themselves. We like ourselves too much to not want to document everything. Every kid getting into an extreme sport feels like they need a gopro, just the same way that people feel like they need a macbook. Chances are that they won't even fully utilize it but regardless they want it as a status symbol.

Drones. they have yet to have an extremely affordable one for you're everyday joe. Hopefully gopro makes this a reality.

I think they're going to continue to grow as a production company. They already produce a whole range of diverse content and they have massive reach through all of their channels. YouTube is the new television and GoPro has done a great job of establishing themselves there.

They also do a great job of luring in the average consumer with the chance of being featured and becoming "instagram famous."

These two things alone will sell cameras. The future is content and GoPro is winning.

I'm thinking they will expand into more electronics, speakers, portable chargers, and maybe cameras similar to the dslr but waterproof and more durable

Definitely not, it will increase in my opinion, atleast filtering down to even younger ages.

now that you are growing up i might seem less valuable to film yourself, however other younger kids defiantly don't

gopro is a powerhouse, if they continue making dope videos, people will keep buying

Gopro is like band aid or Kleenex. Their name is synonymous with the small hd pov camera. It's pretty hard to get that level of brand exposure and brand recognition. I don't see them going anywhere

There are tons of competitors for small HD action cams. Just look at Sony. It's a quality camera, but doesn't get the recognition because GoPro is so well-known. As said above, their name is synonymous with POV cameras for action sports and won't go anywhere of a long time.

Next, they'll probably continue to work towards higher resolution stills and videos. They'll most likely come out with a camera capable of 5k or 6k video resolution. They'll keep getting more and more progressive in terms of camera quality. Likely keep just keep slowly upgrading each year like every other successful technology company.
